List of Advocate Condell Cancer Institute's Reviews
E R dx'd with COVID saw my orthopedic surgeon had and am still fighting E Coli. E Rs are busy places but to miss this NOT ACCEPTABLE. after being taken by ambulance; had no freedom to choose which hospital due to contractual agreement between Condell and the ambulance service . Absolutely zero stars.
Had to go to the ER yesterday for migrine-type headaches and eye pressure. I had fantastic care from the reception staff, techs, nurses and Dr. Pearlman, Jeson Bhagatsingh, CNP with an assist from Dr. Blair. THANK YOU! I had a wonderful nurse, who's name i did not catch, but know she had her medical calling watching Scrubs! Love it!
This organization is corrupt and needs to be investigated. To anybody who is a patient, beware. They will inflate your bill with unnecessary expenses / procedures. They will not ask for your consent, they just do. Even worse, I have found in certain cases they bill you for things they did not even do.
I was there for 3 nights and everything was fine: ER was quick, they got me admitted into a room within about 2 hours in the ER. The nursing staff was responsive and helpful, even brought me snacks and tea since I had missed dinner. The nurse practitioners were awesome and spent time with me and my medical needs. My husband told me the place was spotless, even saw a maintenance worker dusting the hallway baseboards. My room was cleaned and bedding changed. I don't understand the complaints except many are older reviews.
Do NOT give them your car insurance information if you're in an accident. ESPECIALLY if it's the OTHER person who was at fault. They snatched up a claim on MY car insurance and the other driver was at fault. This caused MY car insurance rates to go up . Heartbreaking. They're ONLY about the claims. NOT about the care . The " doctor" kept PUSHING narcotics when I didn't want any. The " Nurse" began AGGRESSIVELY wiping the blood of my face . I was crying and saying Ow !! Ow !!! She screamed" What !!?? What's the problem?" I had a huge gash in my cheek and my lip was ripped in half ( hence the blood ) and SHE yelled at ME !!! Absolutely shameful.
I'm sharing my experience at Advocate Condell to raise awareness about the challenges patients face when dealing with ongoing symptoms and limited answers. Since November 2024, I've been living with blood clots in my left leg, along with persistent swelling, pain, and tightness. I've followed every medical recommendation--blood thinners, physical therapy, hydration, walking, leg elevation, and I stopped birth control (which was suggested as a possible cause). I've had to manage multiple appointments across different days with different providers, and nobody can explain why I am in pain or why my leg is swollen. I was measured for compression socks, but they could take a month to arrive depending on insurance approval. My most recent ultrasound came back normal, yet the pain and swelling remain--and I feel like those symptoms are no longer being taken seriously. None of the specialists I've seen so far have been able to explain why my leg still hurts and remains swollen. Today, a vein specialist mentioned the possibility of another ultrasound--meaning more appointments, more waiting, and still no clear answers. At this point, I can't help but wonder: when will this end? I'm not expecting instant solutions, but I am hoping for more empathy, coordination, and a treatment plan that reflects the real impact this condition has on my daily life. I truly hope this review helps encourage a more patient-centered approach to care.
central Scheduling over the phone was so incredibly unpleasant that it raised my blood pressure. My dr did not write the diagnosis code on the referral. The lady in scheduling told me she needs this code, so I told her I will call my dr to ask for it. My dr 's office said they sent the referral with code to scheduling but just in case they gave me the code number. I called them back, now waiting all together 40 minutes. A different person answered the phone. I explained everything to him. I gave him the code and he knowing the situation said, he cannot schedule anything because the dr HERSELF with HER pen did not write the code on the referral which I had in my hand. The Referral was Faxed to them, I had the code and referral and he did not schedule me because I told him the truth. Your bureaucracy and stiff , inhumane approach to your clients is what makes your reviews so low.
It should not take more than 4 hours to get the results of a test that we were told takes just a few minutes. This is not the way you do business by not doing the follow up after speaking with several people about trying to get the results. This is the only thing stopping us from being discharged. Why is it that someone can not follow up on an issue when they say they will, and then at the very least come back and tell you something even if it's not what you want to hear
Advocate is a scam. My daughter was taken to the ER with a kidney stone and the staff was OK, but in the beginning were very dismissive of her pain. The real problem came with the billing. Apparently they set up online billing for us, but did not inform US. When they finally sent me an actual bill they said it was past due and headed for collections. News to me, as I'd never received a bill. We did not have an online account or any way to access one that we knew about. I set up a payment plan, as it was a hefty bill, and they still sent it to collections. When trying to pay the collections bill Condell gave us the run around as to which agency they used. It is quite a scam to claim to be billing people via a way the person knows nothing about. Thanks for messing with my daughter's credit history, CONDELL! We will NEVER use an ADVOCATE medical facility again!
I had an emergency and had to stay at the Libertyville hospital. It was almost impossible to get the attention of a nurse. They will take more than two hours to respond. The room and hall areas were filthy. Bed was not changed in days. Discharge took hours as several mistakes were made. Careless, unprofessional.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
