I have been your patient and under your care since 2020. You take the time to listen and explain everything. I've never felt like you rush me to see your next patient. I can't thank you enough for every surgery you've done for me and for being so kind.Thank you for taking care of me and listening!! You are truly 1 in a million!! Your talent as a neurosurgeon is a true blessing.
Dr Bagan is down right rude. Didn't say anything about herniated discs and flat out said he wasn't going to perform surgery with no explanation. I would recommend staying away from this so called "DR".
Work comp doctor . He told me my back was fine probably because work comp insurance wasnt paying well enough. I went to another doctor and got an mri and I have three bulging discs and a small crack in my spine. Thank goodness there's good doctors out there. OH, by the way, he never examined me, never met him in person. He claimed to look at my mri. ♿ Had I listened to him I might have needed one of these.
I recently had a craniotomy for chiari decompression done by Dr. Bagan. It all started when all of a sudden I was rushed to the ER with one of the worst migraines I have ever had(and I got them frequently) I felt as if I was going to die. They did a CT scan and saw what looked to be a Chiari 1 Malformation, told me to follow up with Dr. Bagan for further appointments. From the very beginning he has not only been kind in the way he explained things to me, but I could tell he has a lot of passion in his work, making sure his patients are in good hands. I was so nervous leading up to the surgery, but he definitely spoke with both my mom and I and answered all questions we had without judgment. I cannot thank Dr. Bagan enough for his kindness, it was a really scary experience, but Dr. Bagan really put me at ease and I was able to trust him 100% and I couldn't have asked for a better surgeon.
I have never felt more comfortable speaking with a doctor. Dr. Bagan does not talk down to me, but we speak as easily as if we were neighbors. I have had a few procedures and I am confident that Dr. Bagan is the man to fix me, once and for all. He is not only my neurosurgeon, he is my friend. While facing surgery on my skull, that is a good feeling!
Dr Bradley Bagan did a great Job in making my 3rd Surgery a successful one. If you are unhappy with the person whom you speak with then try someone else. If not you better believe in yourself or you'll be back where you started. By the way, there are no guarantees but death and taxes in life!
I am 22 and had a discectomy through him. First off the doctor seemed really caring at first. Then I didn’t get to personally meet him until the surgery day. After I came out of surgery they dropped me in a recliner by not placing me down gently, I was screaming in pain for a hour before the doctors finally gave in and gave me pain meds. I went into shock causing my body to lock up. I was hospitalized 4 times after I had the surgery due to severe pain from doctor Bagan not prescribing me anything, I had to call my pain doctor. He said he would do 2-3 more discectomies On top of injections before I can get a fusion because I’m “too young” but then again he told me I needed it because the disc is bad. At this point the doctor not only seems to be all for money but I asked for notes for work and they can’t even fill them out when I’ve requested several notes and papers to be filled out. I shouldn’t have to go through this and worry about losing my job because currently I’m still in pain and unable to work. The pain I had on the right side has now shifted to my left, my legs still buckle and the doctor won’t allow me to get a fusion until I have injections and more surgeries. I do not recommend this doctor. I felt almost paralyzed after the surgery on top of being in excruciating pain. I’ve had 3 other surgeries in my life including 2 c-sections that went wrong with the anesthesia and the pain I had definitely topped all of them. I will 10/10 go to a different neurosurgeon and find a different doctor to go to. This one is not worth the time and money you spend for the care and treatment you get. Save your health!
You would be better off going to a butcher, He performed a fusion on my spine 3 years Ago and it failed right away , it took me a year To find another surgeon to fix it. Long story short , bagans surgery damaged something Something in my back , been on pain killers Since, my advice find someone else.
Let me make this perfectly clear - He is a joke of a doctor with a huge ego. He as low man on the totem poll at office in Libertyville,IL. Other doctors had full schedule so he decided to see me an my severe lower back pain (near sciatica). Guess what his diagnosis was? "I'm not sure what it causing the pain. We can try surgery again to see if it changes things". No clue what the plan was, just to have me go under knife and hope! I told him get lost, and filed complaint with office manager. She was not surprised. STAY AWAY people in Iowa. I understand he is there now. Bouncing from state to state.
After a year I started having pain in the fusion area needed to follow up. He no longer at that office anymore have to get a opinion.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
