this doctor will lie to help insurance companies if you get sent by insurance for an independent medical exam. be very careful, I would suggest recording him. he makes things up and plays games. this man swore an oath but has no trouble violating it for money..

Dr. Citow was very accommodating. He explained to me everything I needed to know at every step of the way from the consultations to the surgery process, so I felt comfortable to know that I’m in good hands. His staff was also nice and friendly! They return your calls and keep in touch with you. Thank you Dr. Citow for your help and now I feel fully healed!

Dr. Citow is an excellent neurosurgeon. I suffered from spinal stenosis and two cysts in the lumbar region of my spine. Using minimally invasive surgery, he performed a hemilaminectomy and removed both a synovial and tarlov cyst. Now almost 3 months later I have absolutely no sciatica pain down my left leg and few aches in my lower back. I had physical therapy which also helped a lot. Dr. Citow gave me back my life. I am now more active and can enjoy doing the things I previously gave up on because of constant pain.

I have had an excellent experience with Dr. Citow. He performed a hemilaminectomy on my lower back two years ago and an ACDF of C5/6 and C6/7 on my neck one month ago. I received three different recommendations for treatment for my pinched nerve. Dr. Citow took the time to explain why it was clinically indicated for me to have an ADCF surgery as opposed to a Disc Replacement surgery. Dr. Citow was professional, respectful and incredibly knowledgeable and skilled. After the surgery, I was at work in two days, didn't require a collar and had much less pain and discomfort as compared to everyone else who had this procedure done by a different neurosurgeon. My recovery has been relatively easy and the pinched nerve is no longer a problem. You can barely see my scar after only one month. I recommend Dr. Citow highly. One does not need to travel to a downtown teaching hospital for neck or back surgery... when there is an expert neurosurgeon right here in Lake County, Illinois.

Extremely talented, confident and experienced surgeon. Knew exactly what needed to be done, but did not push me to have surgery, Other measures weren't working so I did my homework and all roads led to Dr. Citow as the best. Procedure went very smoothly, was off pain meds in less than two days and back at work 3 days after surgery. My pain is non-existent and I am so thankful to Dr. Citow for the excellent care and outcome! I am enjoying life again!

Dr Citow did a minimally invasive surgery on my lumbar spine for stenosis and a herniated disc. He is an extremely talented and confident surgeon who came recommended by several people with good reason. I am so glad I had surgery after PT and steroid injections didn't fully work. I never felt pressured into the surgery either. I am now pain free and was back at work 3 days later! Super easy recovery. I am extremely grateful to Dr. Citow for helping me get back to enjoying the things I love again!
