Cameron Jirschele Do's Online Review Report Card

This is one one of the most caring physicians I've had the pleasure to deal with. He explained everything thoroughly and allowed me time to ask questions. Truly showed a caring spirit.

Dr. Jirschele performed a surgery on my Mom for the second time recently and she could not have been in better hands. My Mom had enormous size kidney stones both times that had to be broken up from the inside and removed surgically. Both times the stones were around 1.5 cm and 4.5 cm (not mm) and this time around one of them could move rapidly. We could not be thankful enough for Dr. Jirschele for reacting to her circumstances incredibly quickly and turning what could have been a dire situation to a non-event. Even though previously (2 years ago) he had to cut into the kidney this time around he decided to try an even less invasive way. Dr. Jirschele performed Ureteroscopy with Holmium Laser Lithotripsy twice over the course of two weeks and got everything out. My mom walked out of the hospital couple of hours after each procedure without pain. We are very thankful to Dr. Jirschele for his talent, knowledge and kindness. On top of being a fantastic surgeon he is an incredible person.

Dr. Jirschele is very knowledgeable, a great communicator, professional, and caring... Everything one would want when looking for a great physician. He always answers questions in a very timely matter. He is, without question, the best physician I have ever worked with.

Dr. Cameron Jirschele recently performed a kidney surgery on my Mom to remove two enormous stones from one of her kidneys, one of them was 4.5 cm (not mm!) and the other was 1.5 cm. For reference one of them was the size of a golf ball. To add to the complexity they were situated in completely different parts of the kidney. We were very concerned before the surgery due to the size of the stones and the fact that my Mom is 71. Once I spoke with Dr. Jirschele though all of my concerns disappeared because I immediately knew he was an expert. I'd say that Dr. Jirschele is more of an artist in his field actually. He handled my Mom's case masterfully. He first removed the large stone and then weaved through the kidney to get to the second one and pulverize it so that she can pass it. He had the option of cutting in two places but he was concerned with causing my Mom pain and was worried about longer recovery time. Instead he took 3 hours to perform this artistic surgery. We could not have been luckier to have met Dr. Jirschele because so many things could have gone wrong. Thank you Dr. Jirschele for your professionalism and incredible patient approach on top of your knowledge.

Accommodated us to perform an unscheduled procedure while my husband was in the hospital before going home. That relieved us of our anxiety knowing that the reason for being admitted in the hospital was not caused by cancer or a more challenging untreatable condition. He understood how difficult his physical condition was. Took time to talk to us too and explained everything not only to my husband but also to me and my son. Thanks Dr. Jirschele.

Last year I was forced to switch my urologist after almost 20 years due to insurance network. My PCP recommended Dr Jirschele. Dr asks for questions, listens when asks and replies to “you” not at you. He discusses options and recommendations. For his patients through DuPage Medical Group that are familiar with and use “My Chart”, he personally responds to questions. Scheduling appointments through DMG scheduling is a struggle, not his fault, DMG’s scheduling protocol needs a tune up. Earlier today Dr J., performed an outpatient Transurethral resection of my prostate. He spent time with me pre op to once again explain procedure and answer my questions. While I was in recovery he met with my wife to discuss the surgery and my post op do’s and don’ts. I didn’t get to see him post op because he was back in an OR with another patient, I have no problem with that. As always with almost anything in life anymore, your results, and opinion, my vary.

Very personable. Exam room visits are genuine "face-to-face" conversations (doesn't allow himself to be glued to a computer). Had a successful out-patient surgery with him recently. First rate from beginning to end.

I highly recommend this doc for prostate removal. My father age 80 undergone prostatectomy with him. He is excellent doctor and smart doctor.
