She removed lymph nodes in my neck she said it would be minimally invasive and would avoid damaging nerves. When I ask how many stitches I got she said I do not know. I never got a straight answer about the results of the test on the lymph nodes removed. The left side of my neck is partial numb and I wake up with sever pain every day. I have a sever swallowing issues. That was 2 years ago. I feel butchered . Don't let them talk you into surgery without a 2nd opinion.

Did surgery on my husband. Removal of cancerous tumor and lymphnode. Very professional. Surgery took longer than planned but she explained why. I rather have surgery done safely and correct, the speed was not an issue. I would recommend her and if my husband needs to have another surgery (I pray he doesn't) I hope she is the one that does it.

Dr Bier Laning listened to all of my concerns, she talked to me in words I could understand, explained every aspect of my surgery and illness and I was in great hands with her. I flew in from Texas just for her. I really truly believe she’s who cured me.

After being diagnosed with papillary thyroid cancer in Des Moines, IA and feeling uncomfortable with the answers, information, and overall treatment I chose to look for treatment outside of Des Moines. I was referred to CTCA by a friend whose mom has been treated in Zion, IL. I called and still, 1.5 years later I am BEYOND thankful I switched. Carol was an amazing surgeon...very proactive, communicative with my husband and family while I was in surgery, and overall personable and caring. If you or someone you know has been diagnosed with cancer - PLEASE call CTCA!!!

She did not seem comfortable in her skills as a surgeon and my mother's diagnosis of treatment seem to revolve around the convenience of Dr. Bier-Laning rather than treating my mother's issue. She was brash and very unprofessional. We waited over an hour and half for our appointment and did not receive an explanation or apology until my mother made a comment, and then the apology was not heartfelt.

Dr.Bier-Laning performed surgery and removed cancer from my parotid gland Dr.Bier-Laning was super surgeon and total caring person. If you have ear nose or throat problem this Doctor is the only person I would trust with my life. I know because she put her healing hands on me.
