Dr. Yaacoub is a great doctor in my opinion. I've only seen him twice so far, but look forward to establishing a rapport with him. My first visit with him went very well. He was thorough and addressed all of my pain issues that I've been suffering with for a long time. Finally a doctor who listens!! He's great!
Profit first, patient care and pain relief secondary. Needs noninterventionn treatment continuance of medications skip this practice and look for care elsewhere.
Dr. Moten was professional and knowledgeable. He explained everything so I could understand. I highly recommend Dr. Moten and the Illinois Pain Institute. The staff was helpful and professional.
If I could leave 0 stars I would. I saw "Doctor" Yaacoub. For starters, my appointment was at 12:20. The doctor came strolling into the office at 12:50. They essentially told me if i dont opt for surgery (which is what they call spinal injections) they cannot do anything for my pain. I have plantar faciitis in one foot, a bunion on the other and a pinched nerve in my back where 2 of the bones are compressed. The doctor kept saying "oh your insurance is bad, your insurance wont cover this, your insurance womt cover that, your insurance is awful". He told me to go to physical therapy to get my insurance to approve an MRI but if they approve it, I don't need to do physical therapy. Sounds fraudulent to me, swnding someone to physical therapy just for a referral. He gave me a muscle relaxer (for the issues with my bones, no complaints of muscle pain) and told me to take a higher dose of ibuprofen more frequently and swnt me on my way. I called to talk to the office manager to speak to her, which took 2 phone calls and 45 minutes, about the lack of care and all she did was defend it. Saying they arent a pain management office but a pain intervention office (whatever that means) and that they dont do prescriptions, only surgery. Mind you, this is after they made me sign a form about narcotics. Odd. She said they only do injections, nothing else. So I wasted 1.5 months waiting to get in when I could've went elsewhere and half a days work. After talking to her she said she was escalting me to someone else and Id hear back that day. That was yesterday at 11am. I didnt hear back when it was nearing closing time, so I called back and she said I'll still hear back by the end of the day. By noon today, I heard nothing, so I call back, ask for her and then get transferred to the director of nursing. I get her voicemail, leave a message and still NOTHING. Way to get money out of insurance companies claiming you handle pain management, when you actually label yourselves as pain interventionists and do nothing to manage peoples pain. Quack doctor who shouldnt be doctoring.
They take excellent care of me@
They pass out pain pills like it's candy🍬🍭
Horrible place to try to get help. Only injection are given and the look you are wanted pharmacy drugs.
Absolutely do not go to this place they will not right for even tramadol I just had surgery my doctor told me to see these guys to take over the pain medication he was writing for postop surgery and they wouldn’t do it even though I waited two weeks horrible horrible place
Dr.Husu was my last resort and I came to him scared and broken. When you are on pain medication you are treated as less than and just wanting drugs. My doctor of 30 years retired and the person replacing him was, to put it kindly, completely corrupt and uncaring. Dr.Husu was upfront with me and made me feel at ease. He was uplifting and worked WITH me on a plan. I was never adverse to getting off pain medication but I wanted it to be as easy on me as possible and have a plan to manage pain after getting off the meds. He told me he was sorry I had been made to feel badly and set up a five finger plan(when explaining to my mom I said it’s a 5 finger plan to steal back my life). It is not easy AT ALL, the withdrawals and pain returning is very difficult but he has made me feel like I can do it. It may seem odd that someone my age, 41, needs encouragement but being a prisoner of my body and being in bed for 10 years is a soul killer. I don't know how my body will be working in a day, a week, or a year, but I trust in Dr.Husu's care and I trust that he has my best interests at heart. Sadly, the healthcare system is about money and patient in/patient out but when you find a good doctor amongst the rubble it makes you appreciate them that much more. I highly recommend him and I don't care if he moves to Timbuktu, I’m following!
I didn't get into see Dr. Husu because he was running late and I had an appointment I had to keep, but I can say this about him: There were three other people waiting and they all said that "They love him!"
