List of Don Bishop's Reviews
Dr. Bishop is a wonderful doctor. He delivered my son via c-section and has been my OBGYN for several years. He is intelligent, always providing information about current research and statistics so I can be fully informed before I make any healthcare decisions. And he is so pleasant and kind. He has a wonderful bedside manner and makes you feel very comfortable.
He is the best I've seen! He listens to his patients and he cares for the mother and child!
I absolutely love Dr. Bishop. While I was pregnant with my daughter I had so many issues and he took very good care of me. Always made sure my mind was at ease each visit.
AS another person said, he is very rude and interrupts constantly when I asked any questions. he also seems to think that he is a psychologist and he asked me very uncomfortable personal questions about my childhood and personal life. I found this to be creepy and irrelevant to my appointment. #creepyhippiewannabepsychologist
I entered under his care as a new patient, since my regular OBGYN was called out on an emergency right before my appointment. Boy am I glad. He showed compassion and was an excellent listener to my "story." Treated my embarrassing issue with great sensitivity and resulted in long term success. I'm glad my regular physician was called out, and I hope Dr. Bishop will stay in practice for years to come, as I would rather not see anyone else. He obviously loves his profession and specialty.
Dr. Bishop took his time to explain my health issue and established a trusting atmosphere in relation to sensitive topics. His communication skills are among the best I have experienced with a physician. He is highly knowledgeable, up-to-date with current research and a skilled with the physical exam.
Bishop delivered my second baby and i was happy with him at that time (delivery was the first time i met him). When i had a prolasp a few months later i was very unhappy with him. He was very unsympathetic, told me it was that bad, suggested i should wait 5 or 10 years until i'm done having kids. He was unwilling or unable to discuss what life with a prolasp means and only offered to refer me to a therapist when i started to cry.
In my experience, he and his staff weren't very professional. At one appointment I went into a dirty room, with a bloody pap smear tool in the sink with used gloves. He seemed like he couldn't keep track of what went on from apt to apt. He didn't like to be questioned, and will hold back information if he feels it isn't something g you should know. Apt scheduling is ok, but I'd you have an afternoon apt, be prepared to wait.
I waisted months of my pregnancy after another md suggested I use him due to done strange complications. First visit, he was interrupting my and my partner's questions, comments, concerns. I am a well educated individual however not only him, but his affiliated practice Heartland Women's Healthcare and memorial hospital of carbondale treated me as of I were a joke. I went to L&D due to pain and contractions at 34 weeks approx. at this hospital where a very rude, out of line and apparently uneducated nurse patronized, laughed, and insulted me on so many levels to th ed point I got up ready to leave AMA. You head a lot of buzz abou f how intelegant this physician is however he's bedside manner is ridiculous. Doesn't explain anything unless you ask and felt I couldn't ask too many questions as he was somehow doing me a favor by being an uncaring cold out right jerk. Would not address major issues I had since the beginning of my pregnancy My intake history was incorrect and I've got other physicians, at least one to go in on as well, as it all began with him. You could not imagine the garbage and rude comments that came out of these people's mouths. ..not only the mds/obgyn, one midwive, and the middle men in Greenville illinois u must go thru to even speak to a nurse or associate in ur doctors office. This is far from a caring professional physician, as evidenced by me rocking back and forth in pain which again began very early on, yet it was either ignored or attacked in many ways for bringing it up, or coplaning of shortness of breath for example.... etc, etc, etc, Emailed and called to complain... got no reply First child-awful dreadful experience thanks to these so called professionals. Didn't meet a single one except a lab tech that was alright.. I would go anywhere but to these people. I'll never forget now at 35 weeks btw how miserable and scared I have been it's literally drained nearly every ounce of joy and what my pregnancy should have been.. not treated like a moron, nuscience who is unworthy of your time to say the least but also judt part of the cattle heard u get in, birth em', then move them along so u n can see the next droning heffer.. avoid all 3 places. God if I could go back
Great doc--always takes enough time. Cares.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
