I agree with some of the other low ratings especially from the young lady in one of the reviews that said she was having pain her foot and she said he basically told her to suck it up. I had that same experience except I had broken fracture that I was looking at in the xrays and he dismissed the pain I was feeling like my foot look terrible in general and I should just deal with this one more problem. ...

2012 Dr. Lapinski put my shattered right leg back together. took 2 surgeries. I have never found a doctor more caring and attentive through the whole process than this man. still upset about finding out about the move to Tenn. Might make an appt. down there with him. Dr. Lapinski was willing to take a look at my ankle based on history after having 2 unsuccessful surgeries and thw amount of pain i was in when I saw him. I am happy to report that 9 months post op I feel GOOD. I haven't been able to say that in 4 years. Very grateful Dr. Lapinski listened to me and not what my MRI said. Thank you!!

Dr. Lapinski gave me the ability to walk again. Competent skilled compassionate doctor highly recommended by my seasoned primary doctor and my seasoned orthopedic (hip replacement) surgeon. Tennessee is blessed by his practice there. I along with others wish him well, however, miss him in Chicago area.

If you’re looking for someone who genuinely listens and demonstrates empathy, I would look somewhere else.

I am 59 and have had 29 surgeries for various issues. I had severe trauma to my left foot and after researching found Dr. Lapinski. I had a below the knee amputation with lots of complications that resulted in 3 addition surgeries. By far he is the most skilled, empathetic and knowledgeable surgeon I have had the work with me. I am not an easy patient to work with as I have had some very bad experiences with medical providers. I challenge most of my doctors and I have to say Dr. Lapinski and I had our moments of differing opinions but in the end we developed a respect for each other that we now can look back and laugh at were some very hard times that Dr. Lapinski saw me through with flying colors!

Dr Lapinski is a great doctor with a wonderful attitude, and what a memory. He remembered operating on my right Achilles’ tendon and heel two years ago (retrocalcaneous exostectomy) when I came to him in April of 2019 with the same problem on my other foot! He gets right down to explaining everything, making things very clear, easy to understand. He puts you at ease, and is very personable, I have a lot of faith in Dr. Lapinski. He will take all the time you need in his office to put your mind at ease about any upcoming surgery, never makes you feels rushed. I now have “two matching feet and heels”, and am on my way to a good recovery. Very happy, thank you!

I have been a patient of Dr. Lapinski's for about 3 years. I have some very complex issues with my feet. Dr. Lapinski has been wonderful. I've also consulted with a respected Northwestern orthopaedic, both are in agreement on procedures. I have absolute confidence in this doctor. He is incredibly knowledgeable, skilled and is very highly respected by other doctors that I've talked with. Two family members are now patients of Dr. Lapinski due to my experiences and outcomes. Dr. Lapinski had xrays done of both feet, as I have had 8 breaks in the past and I suspected a stress fracture, left foot 2nd metatarsal. I was right. I had already been following instructions he gave me from a previous injury and re-used the boot to immobilize this injury until seeing me. He took the time to compare previous xrays, show me where the new fracture is, confirm it by examining my foot. He took the time to discuss another issue needing foot surgery and reassure me it is easy.

***STAY AWAY!!!***Horrible, horrible customer service! I've never written a review on anything until today. When I originally made this appointment over 3 weeks ago, I was scheduled for an afternoon appointment since I work most mornings. After switching my schedule around I get a phone call from the office a few days later saying they need to reschedule my appointment because the doctor now has a surgery with different patient all of a sudden, fine, I rescheduled. I show up this morning to my appointment, on time, to be told my appointment is cancelled??? Apparently the doctor couldn't make it in for whatever reason but all his staff could? They didn't have the decency to call their patients to make them aware of cancellations ahead of time? We had a couple inches of snow but nothing that would stop anyone from traveling by any means. As other reviews show, you should also stay away from this doctor and his practice. He obviously has no respect for his patients or their time.
