I’ve been a student of Chen’s for nearly 25 years, and I feel it’s important to warn future students or practitioners considering his mentorship. Over the years, I’ve observed a troubling pattern: if you’re not consistently spending thousands annually on his ‘wholesale’ herbal products or purchasing the books he publishes every few months (often poorly written in English), his demeanor shifts. This reaction feels less like mentorship and more like a transactional relationship. What’s more concerning is his unethical behavior. He has gaslit and manipulated me to a degree I never expected from a trusted teacher. In one instance, he directly undermined my practice by telling patients I referred to him for herbal consults to stop seeing me for acupuncture and focus solely on his treatments. This was not only professionally damaging but also a significant breach of trust. I strongly advise anyone in practice to think twice before referring patients to him for herbal consults, as it may put your own business at risk.

The treatment is very effective, I have been taking dr Chen's herbals for over 6 months and I can truly say it has been a lifesaver.

I have been going to Dr. Chen (C.J.) for about 6 yrs now and I can't thank him enough. I have endometriosis and was on fertility drugs to try and conceive a child. Dr. CJ (as we call him) helped me for 6 years now. Here is how he started helping: After about 5 years of my MD not figuring out my diagnosis...he thought I had reflux, I discovered it was Achalasia and did all the western medicine testing to confirm it in 2009. With Achalasia the motility of the esophagus does not work right and the sphincter is too tight. All the food and liquid comes back up and you can't sleep at night from cough up white foamy stuff. Now he still helps me manage the Achalasia (which is chronic disease) with herbs. I can eat most anything except spicy foods and live a normal life. And I believe these herbs will prevent me from getting a more dibiliating disease. I highly recommend Dr. CJ.
