Personable and professional. Provides medical treatment required in a caring manner
Thank God for Dr Walsh! And Edwards! He & this hospital literally helped save Mom's foot, poss leg from amputation & her life! I withdrew Mom from a facility that allowed a previously botched routine, elective surgery to become infested, BLACK with gangrene & her sick with infection. So I brought her to Edwards & am I EVER glad I did!! Edwards saved her from losing a WHOLE extremity & or possibly her life if they didn't cure the infection!! THANKS TO EDWARDS & thanks to doctor Walsh for saving Mom's life AND limb...
Money Hungry Dr. Same with his assistant. She literally told me that I needed to be a billionaire to schedule an appointment with him due to no insurance.
Dr. Walsh operated on my husband on Sept 14,2022 for a 90% blockage of his left carotid artery. This was, I believe, a risky operation as my husband had just had a stroke in the hospital. The operation was a complete success and Dr. Walsh checked on my husband every day during his recovery in the hospital. Great technical skills and great bedside manner. I highly recommend him.
Straight talker, sincere, really cares about his patients
In 2016 I was diagnosed with an extremely rare condition. Dr Walsh performed 2 outstanding surgeries to remove tumors on my carotid arteries. He saved my life...twice. He always checked on me and helped me overcome the biggest challenge of my life. Godspeed to you Dr Walsh.
Dr Walsh performed 2 surgeries to remove 2 paraganglioma tumors on both my carotid arteries. The condition is so rare that most doctors couldn’t recommend a doctor to take care of it. I thank God for Dr Walsh who knew exactly what to do. The man saved my life twice.
Never less than an hour wait. I brought my mother for her appointment and was told that there were five people in front of her and the doctor wasn't there yet, I got understandably upset and I was vocal about it. She dragged me into the office to talk and told me not to speak like that in front of other patients. I told her that she should call and move back appointments and be respectful of my time as well as the doctor's time. I understand that emergencies happen but a call to push off the appointment would be appreciated. But apparently that isn't her job - she is just the office manager. The only redreeming thing is that after my argument with her she did call patients and push back patients appointments.
I found Dr. Walsh after another doctor in north Chicago suburbs kicked me to the curb after doing a thrombosis emergency surgery. I was referred by Loyola U. even though he is not in their group. Dr. Walsh was very informative and my wife and I always understood what was happening and what was going to happen. I spent over 7 hours on the operating table and that wasn't the end of the day for Dr. Walsh. He continued to monitor me after and noticed I was having a problem, identified it, responded to it, and saved my life a second time. He was there that day until after midnight according to my wife. I write this two years after the fact because today I am enjoying my retirement, playing golf everyday, walking miles every day, playing sports such as bocce and pickleball. I couldn't walk one block without stopping to rest, prior to the surgery. I couldn't walk up stairs without rest prior to the surgery. A few months ago I walked the entire Las Vegas strip twice in the same evening without needing to rest. God Bless Dr. Walsh and may you also enjoy the rest of your life.
He installed a catheter in my arm, for dialysis. I pointed out that, according to the vein mapping, veins near my wrist were smaller those veins near my elbow. So I asked that he catheter be placed near my elbow. He said only, if I obtained permission from my Nephrologist. My Nephrologist granted permission, but Dr. Walsh did not comply. When I woke up from surgery; the catheter was at my wrist. The catheter won't mature, after 12 weeks; and surgery must be repeated (with elbow area placement).

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
