List of John L Reilly Md's Reviews
I would highly recommend Dr Reilly to everyone needing an orthopedist. He is very knowledgeable, professional. Courteous and caring. When in with him for a visit he listens and asks continually is there any issues. He says to call him no matter what and if you do he promptly calls back. He did a hip replacement for me 2 years ago and I said all these things then and now after my 2 year follow up I can say I’m doing well and Dr Reilly made me realize even more how comfortable he made me feel during whole process!
VERY HELP FULL WITH MY KNEE PAIN TOLD ME WHAT TO DO FOR THE PAIN
I just left a review on M&M Orthopedics. Long story...Dr. Reilly insisted his diagnosis was correct and my 17 year old did not need an MRI to prove it. "Moot point" to do an expensive test when she has an apophysitis of her hip (after a soccer injury). Urgent care doctor said he "suspects a labral tear", but Dr. Reilly, after an exam and checking XRays, was certain she did not have a labral tear. Crutches for 2 weeks, turned into crutches for 6 weeks. Then "it can take up to 3 months to hea"l. I asked again about MRI and was told, "Moot point, it won't change how we treat her". That went on from May 29 to mid August. Still in pain (now it is October) I decided to get a 2nd opinion from Rush orthopedics. 1st appointment they order MRI and try a steriod injection. We found out today she has a labral tear and femoral acetabular impingement. She needs surgery with 9 months until full recovery. IF Dr. Reilly had done the MRI and not been so insistent on his correct diagnosis, we would be 5 months into her recovery. She has been in pain for 5 long months & will now miss her senior of soccer.
I went to see Dr. Reilly on Sept 26, 2018 (Wed) and he read my x-ray and said I had a compressed femoral neck fracture. And then he said I needed to get in the ER immediately and I said why would I need to do that? And he said since you don't have a medical doctor, the emergency room will suffice. I thought why would I have to be in the hospital Wed & Thurs when he said he could do outpatient surgery on Friday? I was in shock and ran from this nightmare. I had a 2nd opinion, and the orthopedic surgeon said "I don't need surgery". I gave him a hug. I was a happy camper ;-) P.S. One thing Dr. Reilly did for me was that he gave me a pair of crutches, which helped a lot. I have been blessed and I am almost healed. I am without crutches and looking forward to physical therapy. God is good ;-) Keep being positive & keep the faith!
Dr. Reilly has been my orthopedic doctor for years. I cannot imagine going to any doctor for my knees. He always explain my options and treatment. I feel he cares for my well-being and that matters to me. I trust him fully!
Very inattentive- went in with knee issue- totally dismissed everything I was telling him- Left with more knee pain than before I got there- Wish I would have read reviews before I made appointment- Do yourself a favor & find another ortho-it’s too bad that poor is the lowest choice-
Very inattentive- left office with more pain than before I arrived- Do yourself a favor- find another Dr.
if you are looking for a cookie and a glass of milk, go somewhere else. This guy is too busy being a Doctor and taking care of you, like a Doctor, not like your mommy. A no nonsense, get down to the problem, plan a course of action and move on, kinda Doc. I did not rate this Doc on bedside manner or time spent because that's not what I was there for. I found his demeanor appropriate and he spent as much time as he needed with me to get the information he needed and make a plan to expedite my recovery. Isn't that what we all want?
Excellent through detailed to the point knowledgeable
knowledgeable and in no hurry for additional testing for extreme shoulder pain. Put us at ease and will check in for progress without surgery.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
