List of Kenneth Vercelli's Reviews
I was a patient of Dr. Vercelli's for 15 + years, I started when I was 50 to get an established baseline. After a few years he told me he did not see a need for me to come in, I was healthy. Really? Should have changed then. I had some early symptoms of lyphmoma, and asked about them, but Dr. Vercelli always dismissed them, and me. Finally, 7 years later I had significant unexplained weight loss, and a very firm abdomen. He sent me for a scan, and later referred me to an oncologist. He never noticed (even with all the symptoms) that my lymph nodes were very smollen, never noticed. The scan came back with two very large masses, and what later turned out to be stage 4 lympoma. He called to tell me he thought it could be cancer, he was sorry, and hung up. The call took about 12 seconds, I recorded it. Never hear from the doc again. He is the least competent, and least compassionate MD I have met.
I'm a former long term patient of Dr. Vercelli. Nice enough guy, had multiple physicals and other visits with him. Spent most of his time with me typing notes in the computer with his back to me. Seened to rely on bloodwork, but the bloodwork was completed after the visit, did not review or discuss with me. NEVER followed up on items of concern, never followed up after a cancer diagnosis, never connected the dots that frankly all the signs pointed to. Was copied for a year on bloodwork, scans, biopsies, etc. while undergoing treatment. Again, never a word, a note, any indication he reviewed anything, or cared. In my humble opinion not even average diagnostic or communication skills. And, importanly, little to zero concern for the patient.
I have had wonderful thorough ongoing care from Dr. Vercelli since he diagnosed my type 2 diabetes over five years ago. He is caring, knowledgeable and easy to converse with regarding medical issues. I give him five stars
Good questioner, probes into issues, does not assume significance. Shows concern for patients
My complaint isn’t with the doctor but with his staff. They are TERRIBLE at getting back to you in a timely fashion. I’ve called, left messages, asked questions and their response time is often weeks instead of days or in the last instance no response for something very painful until I sent a nasty note and then the response was “oh Sorry the doctor forgo”. If you need attention quickly all I can say is good luck . DuPage Medical has a big problem on their hands.
I have had more than one negative experience with this physician. His bedside manner is very lacking. Once had an issue and was in an immense amount of pain. After almost five weeks of excruciating pain, he refused to authorize an MRI. He was quite condescending about relaying that message too. Bedside manner is so important in making a patient feel respected.
Real pro, takes time to listen and answer questions and provides excellent care.
Dr. Vercelli has treated me for many years and he has provided complete, thorough and thoughtful care.
My condition has required me to have frequent on going visits and no matter what the issue, he always takes the time needed and makes me feel my concerns are important.
Dr Vercelli demonstrates a genuine concern for his patient's well being. His ability to recall details of the last visit even before reviewing the history is impressive. I highly recommend Dr. Vercelli.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
