Linden Oaks Behavioral Health Outpatient Center - Naperville's Online Review Report Card

Terrible customer service, health care providers are terrible, no empathy, no compassion, the appointments basically consist of asking the patient if they are happy with current dose of antidepressants or want to up your dose and you are done. Pretty rude front office staff especially at Woodridge location. Health care providers especially Matt De La Torre is the worst. Go to this location only if you want your family member numbed with medicines and want no solutions or real long term treatment.

The best and nicest office staff. Prompt, attentive and always so quick, even with in person visits. Vik is great at communicating. If you're debating addressing your mental health concerns- don't. Just do it.

We've been calling for two days waiting for a call back after they talk to the doctor, and we still have not heard back. We have severe anxiety in his family and it was tough to call and now we have to keep calling back to get them to call us.

My 13 year old has severe anxiety and depression. I told his pediatrician through elmhurst hospital and they had someone from Linden Oaks call me today. I explained he is severely anxious and it is almost debilitating. He is also very depressed. They told me there are no therapists available at this time. No therapist available for a very depressed and anxious child?! This is unacceptable. They said they could get me in with a psychiatrist, but not an actual doctor, just an APN, and that also would take a month. I hope he makes it that long. Thanks for nothing

Do not send your babies here to be brainwashed.  Instead of caring for each patient, our children are grouped together with other troubled and non functioning kids.  They find a new world of made up ideologies and a world of accepted misery.  Oh, and you get to pay for this too.  They will not be able to tell you what insurance can pay for and what "extra's" you will be charged.  You will have to happily just wait and see.  Don't believe that they will help them with their missed school work or that they will help you find care after the program.  Both of these did not happen and we were left to our own defenses.  Put extra money on the side for tutoring and extra care after the program.  They will leave with new and improved issues as they learn from their new, troubled friends.  And they WILL find ways to communicate outside of the group and nothing will be done.  I unfortunately do not have alternatives (which is why they are able to line their pockets and get away with this) but want parents to be prepared for what WILL happen at this facility.  I can guarantee your child will not leave feeling inspired or hopeful and of course they will want to medicate your child.  Your child will also DO everything possible to stay out of school after the program because it is quite likely they will be more anxious rather than less.  Be prepared.It has taken me almost a year to write this review.  I have had time to look back and really see what awful treatments they have for our hurting, defenseless children.  I wish I was not so trusting.  PLEASE BEWARE.  You are the last and greatest advocate for your children.

don't send your child here unless you want them to walk in depressed and leave suicidal. this place is disgusting blood on the walls and looks like a prison. this place does not help!

No rating, Unless you have a large bank account you cannot accesss any of what Linden Oaks might offer.  They were sold last year, they laid off 84 employeess eliminating 234 positions.  They will waster your time with intake and then tell you they have no beds available even if you have a means to pay.  The worst and most devastating of all is when someone who needs mental help or addiction help at Edwards Hospital they bring in someone from Linden Oaks who asked them the "script" questions and then ignore it when the patient indicates they are suicidal,  I have the paperwork from the Hospital to back up this statement!  Thank about that with suicides rates off the charts!!  Your insurance company or you pay for that analysis but its worthless since they do nothing with it..  Mary Lou Mastro CEO, Former Pres of Linden Oaks on the board of National Alliance on Mental Health  brags about her committment to Mental Health but thats all great public relations bull.  Think about it before you take one of Your Family to Edwards  or Linden Oaks for help!!!!

They gave me another patients medical treatments and covered it up.

While working with APN Courtney Alvarez I finally feel like I have been able to get the proper medical treatment I needed. She has been the first and only medical professional in my mental health treatment that has understood and listened to the needs of a patient. Not only is Alvarez knowledgeable and engaging she provides me the space to give my input on how I would like my treatment plan to work and has advised me on which medications may work best for me. I have always felt valued and appreciated by Dr. Alvarez and she has always gone above and beyond to ensure my personal safety and well-being. Courtney Alvarez is the exemplary model of what an amazing and effective psychiatrist should be. In the many times I’ve sought mental health services she has been the one to adapt, understand and listen to my concerns. I leave every session confident in the treatment I receive and I truly believe she has been a major influence in my recovery journey.
