List of Robert Matlock's Reviews
Dr. Matlock is an excellent orthopedic surgeon and I highly recommend him.
I went to Dr. Matlock for a visit for the first time for my knee and I do NOT recommend his staff and his services to anyone. 1.) His tone was not only rude, but he was discouraging and was unable to provide me further clarification on my pain. 2.) He injected me with cortisone injections which did absolutely nothing to my knee pain. 3.) His staff is extremely rude on the phone and practically screamed at me when I asked them to repeat something because I couldn't hear it the first time. Overall, this team is not qualified and they lack serious interpersonal communication skills.
Dr. Matlock was amazing. Very thorough and knowledgeable. He wasn’t quick to do surgery right away. He suggested and worked with me to figure out the best course of treatment. I ended up having surgery and even he was surprised what he found that didn’t show up on the X-ray or MRI. I highly recommend Dr. Matlock and the entire Naperville Surgical staff.
Not sure how good or bad Dr. Matlock is, but his scheduling service is horrible! Made an appointment for myself through the phone. I was asked why do I need to see the doctor. I explained that most likely have a bone spur in one of my feet and need advice on how to deal with that. Took half day of work and went to see the doctor. The nurse came, explained that they must do an x-ray on my foot. 10 minutes later, the doctor came himself only to explain to me that he doe's not specializes in feet. His specialty -knees, and shoulders. To my disappointment and disbelief, instead of apologizing that his staff wasted my time (and money), Dr. Matlock threatened me that he can charge me for a visit and that I should be grateful that he is not. What?! For what? Maybe I should charge their office for wasting my time? On the way out, the nurse mentioned that "scheduling, for an unknown reason, makes lots of errors like this.
Dr. Matlock is an Excellent Doctor, he and his medical team helped take away my severe knee pain in my 1st office visit. Thank you. Excellent team!
Dr. Matlock and his team are Outstanding. His X-ray Tech Sue is phenomenal. I was having a very difficult time walking when I saw the Doctor, by the time my appointment was over and he Had finished draining the water from my knee. I felt much better and 6 hours later I was walking perfectly. Thank you Dr. Matlock For your knowledge compassion and expertise.
The back-office support team for Dr. Matlock is incompetent. They failed multiple times to provide my insurer (Cigna) with the necessary information to get approval for a simple MRI procedure. At first they tried to blame the insurance company for the denial but after spending hours on the phone I was able to determine that Matlock's back office didn't send in the necessary paperwork (not only once but twice). Because of the back-office headaches I unfortunately would not recommend this doctor
Dr. Matlock is an outstanding physician. I could not be happier with him as my orthopedic surgeon. Dr. Matlock is extremely knowledgeable on recent studies and treatments and thus is always providing what I believe is the best decisions for my health and recovery. Wait times are minimal and I don't mind waiting a few extra minutes for a doctor who I know will take their time with me in my appointment, ensuring all my questions are addressed and I feel comfortable with decisions. 100% Recommend!
Explained problem and treatment clearly.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
