After a long fertility journey, I’m overjoyed to finally be expecting a baby boy! With the help of Dr Karande and his amazing team, who was with me every step of the way, i have graduated. There were painful moments, disappointing moments and moments of pure joy, after seeing my ultrasound images. I couldn’t have done this without their kindness, patience, and care.Truly forever grateful!
I wish I could have said I even made it to my appointment. Saying I had the worst experience with the Crystal Lake Office is an understatement. I chose this office after hearing the positive reviews of Dr. Karande. After the first interaction I had with the front desk woman when I arrived, early for my appointment, was an embarrassment. Not only this office, every person in healthcare and an insult to every Mom to be. Clearly she has been allowed to speak disrespectfully to patients for far too long. I felt bad for the office staff behind this woman that they probably hear this woman berate others who are going through a very sensitive and emotional time. She needs better training and education on how to kindly and respectful speak to women who are struggling with fertility. She does not belong in this field. Many women carry this emotional weight daily and to be told that my appointment will be significantly shorter because I didn’t get the lab work completed prior to my consultation. Which I was unaware of. Makes me continue to feel that my infertility is all my fault. No woman who ever feel like this. I received a call 18 minutes before my appointment, as I was turning into the parking lot, by a very sweet nurse asking if I had my labs for the appointment. As I shared I didn’t know I needed for this consultation but I’ll be in the office in 2 minutes. I enter in and the nurse I spoke to was there and very kind while the old sad excuse for a receptionist told me to sit down. Since I’m early and in no rush, I’ve waited so long for this appointment I was totally chill and took a seat. She started barking at me from behind her desk. Startled me because there was no real greeting. For multiple minutes she berated and railed into me that I should have had labs and an ultrasound done. I told her that I understand that he may not be able to share much with me but I was unaware. And to be honest almost 2 years of trying.. what’s 1 more month as long as I am on the right path. I got this phone call a 1:41 for an appointment at 2pm. She had me shaking and so upset I was uncontrollably crying. I have never had anyone in my life that should be a medical professional speak to me in the manner. By 1:55 I just couldn’t take it anymore and told her I would wait in my car for the appointment since the doctor was running late. I eventually calmed down and trusted my momma gut and decided absolutely not will I have someone speak to me that way nor will I support an office who believes her behavior is appropriate. I made a new appointment with another fertility doctor as I was fueled with determination. I walked back in and told her to let the Dr. know when he arrives that I will not be continuing with my appointment or this practice because of her. She sent me off with a ‘good luck on your journey’- I will with absolutely no credit to her insensitive and ignorant comments. I wasn’t going to give this company a minute more of my time but I was livid. I decided to call and make a formal complaint so just someone else is aware of this awful woman’s actions and the hope that no other patient will ever have to experience what I and I would image many other caring, loving soon to be moms have had to be subjected to. I called and spoke to a front desk person who was working from home.. she was nice and was going to connect me to a ‘regional manager’ I was sent to a billing mailbox. Clearly that’s not the manager. So I hang up and call back. I get another office who answers and says they will connect me to this manager and I sat on hold for 20 minutes. Absolutely unacceptable but clearly that must be a standard with this practice. Mamas beware- choose another practice. Sending you all baby dust! (And wishes for a better experience)
We are so grateful for Dr. Klipstein and everyone at InVia Fertility who have made our dreams come true! Our family is so happy and cannot thank you enough for helping us complete our family.
Definitely not highly educated as it says I would nit recommend unless you wanna hear lies
I had decided a long time ago that I'd keep my mouth shut about my experience at InVia and with Dr. Klipstein, but a recent experience with a friend of mine made me feel like I could no longer keep silent, lest other women waste their time at this joke of a fertility clinic. I have been going through various forms of fertility treatments for 5 years. in that time period, we have been seen multiple physicians to get their opinion (we've also moved 4 times, so had no choice but to change clinics). We wound up with InVia on the recommendation from another doctor when we decided due to the pandemic we wanted to keep our treatment closer to home. Dr. Klipstein spent an hour with my husband and I. She didn't really present any information that was new or interesting which was disappointing as well. But more than that, at the end of the hour, she told me that due to their requirements for BMI, I had to lose 50 lbs before they'd do an egg retrieval. Not because she was concerned about egg quality or fertility issues, but because I was anesthesia risk. I explained that I had actually previously undergone an egg retrieval, and had 21 surgeries under my belt with zero complications from anthesthesia (also anesthesia is not a requirement for an egg retrieval, but alas). She insisted this was the clinic rule and it wasn't her decision to make. When I asked to discuss this with anesthesia or with the medical director making this decision I was ignored. So literally - was my BMI NOT clear on my medical history before you took $350 for a consult visit and wasted an hour of my time? When I explained how difficult it was to lose weight given my PCOS, etc - and I explained that I worked closely with a dietician on diet and exercise and was doing the best I can - she pushed a KETO diet, of course, run directly out of her clinic (more money for them) and a diet that is incredibly dangerous for women with PCOS who are ALREADY at risk of heart disease. But you know, since their clinic sponsors this expensive program, I'm sure it brings in more money for them. InVia's home page claims, "you're more than just a number!" That's literally their motto. And yet, they won't take on any patients they don't feel that they can be successful with, and they fat shame and scapegoat women. I'd avoid this clinic like the plague. And I've told literally everyone I know considering them the same thing.
Dr. Karande got us pregnant on our first transfer. We were allowed a “natural” transfer which made the entire process much more relaxing. Dr. Karande is very skilled and knowledgeable. We live in the northern suburbs so it was a relief to find out that I could go to their Northbrook satellite location for monitoring. Sheila, who is in the northbrook office, is a total angel. Her ultrasounds were always thorough. I never left her office feeling like I needed more information. I am so thrilled we chose Invia!
I had a great experience with Invia Fertility. I have been with Invia for two years with unexplained infertility. Dr. Karande is very knowledgeable and took excellent care of me along with all of his staff . The nurses and ultrasound technicians are overall amazing! They checked in after my egg retrieval and after finally getting pregnant , nurse Kim S. even called to congratulate me - it was so sweet! Monika N. always asked me how I was doing and checked in on me. Kim S. ultrasound tech comforted me during one especially difficult appointment for me. The staff is quick, efficient, and their office is run well. I also was treated by Dr. Puscheck who was so nice, I loved how she explained everything during my transfer and showed me all the details on the ultrasound. Dr. Karande again is very good at what he does. I am at high risk for OHSS , he was able to tailor my treatment so that I had many eggs retrieved (28) and still be safe. He is very direct and to the point so if you want someone more touchy feely, one of the other doctors might be a better fit for you. He is always available to answer your questions and I just wanted to get pregnant so I didn't mind his direct approach. He listened to my husband's and my concerns and I never felt pressure for next steps. He presented the facts , his recommendation, but ultimately he respected our thoughts and wishes. I highly recommend Invia and good luck on your journey
Dr. Karande and the whole staff at Invia Fertility have been wonderful. He is a great doctor and caring individual. He helped me get pregnant with my first child, and I am currently pregnant with my second. He was able to make adjustments for my treatment plan with my second child based on how my body reacted the first time around. This really helped make the process smoother for me. The nurses and techs are so friendly and caring, and were always willing to answer any questions I had. I’ve also had experience working with Dr. Klipstein and Dr. Puscheck for procedures. Both doctors were very nice and took good care of me. I can’t recommend this practice enough. They are so understanding, professional, and supportive. Everyone at Invia goes above and beyond to support you through this journey.
I cannot thank Dr. Karande and his staff (especially RN, Lynn) enough for my perfect baby girl! Dr. Karande knew how desperate we were for a baby and saw that we tried everything possible on our own so instead of wasting time he had us try everything possible. We conceived on our first round of treatment! THANK YOU!
Dr. Karande desperately needs to learn bedside manners. He was incredibly insensitive during a difficult time and had the nerve to say, "I told you so." I asked to switch doctors and was denied. Unfortunately this is the only fertility practice that my HMO covers and I will never go back if Dr Karande is my Dr.
