I have been a patient since'97 and Dr. Okner treats patients just great. He listens, explains, and most importantly does not interfere with your lifestyle unless major changes are needed. I would recommens him highly as the go to cardioligist.

BE CAREFUL... My husband was on blood pressure/cholesterol medication and ran out. The nurse said his medication could not be refilled without seeing the doc. I made an appointment for him, but she wrote it on the wrong day... consequently, he couldn't see the doc. The nurse blamed her mistake on me! It was 3 months, before my husband could get in to see him. At that time, the doc changed his medication (Cardizem CD and Provachol) to 2 statins (Lipitor and Zocor, for high cholesterol). A week later, my husband died... so much pressure built up inside the heart, that it literally exploded! Although the EMS was only 3 minutes away, they could not save him... they never got a heartbeat on him! I was widowed with 6 children, 2 car payments, and a mortgage. If I had realized that this doc doubled dosed my husband... I would have sued the pants off him!!!

HE SAVED MY FATHERS LIFE!! HE IS CARING, SMART, & REALLY LISTENS. DOES NOT LIKE TO OVER MEDICATE. OFFICE STAFF WONDERFUL. RETURNS CALLS PROMPTLY AND TAKES THE TIME TO EXPLAIN. HE IS A WONDERFUL DR. YOU CAN REALLY TRUST

As a medical professional...one thing I learned is ask about a doctor from their peers. Other Doctors in his field rate him very low. Some of the things that have been said about his medical abilities are that he does not read tests properly and therefore does not medicate well. Misdiagnosis and wrong medication can lead to death!! He has a pleasant demeanor, but a bad rap by his peers. Professionally, his peers do not think he can be trusted. Do with this what you want. But in my opinion you can find better.
