List of Advocate Children's Hospital - Oak Lawn's Reviews
We went to the emergency room because my child had some kind of stain on his tongue. We were examined by Suzanne M Teal, CNP. After the examination, she said that my child had a mechanical injury. She allegedly put something in her mouth and damaged her tongue. I told her that my baby didn't take anything in her mouth, but she insisted. She said that nothing needs to be done, it will go away by itself in 2-4 days. But! It didn't go away. After 6 days, I went to another doctor who said that the child had thrush. And Another doctor was very much surprised how they could have given her a mechanical effect, if it was immediately obvious that the tongue was not damaged. Also, my child has pimples on his body. I asked Suzanne M Teal what it could be. She confidently said it was eczema. BUT! Today we visited a dermatologist and we have follicular keratosis. It's just such a feature of the skin. I am very disappointed with Suzanne M Teal. She misdiagnoses while working with children. I think this is unacceptable. After all, these are our children. I think the clinic should pay attention to this doctor ...
Their goal is only money. Never discharge you simply. you know very well about their treatment by readin google because they are also googling and doing treatment. They have link with Lurie. So they will get as much as possible insurance cost and move you to Lurie for them to grow with insurance cost. one of the worst children hospital in this world.
We had to bring our daughter in through emergency not knowing what was wrong. She was admitted to the 4hope unit and we could not have had a better experience. Her nurse, Jessica, and her PCA Colleen Barnotes were absolutely amazing. Colleen was extremely attentive and even found time to play a game with our daughter to get her to smile. Our news was not good at the end of the day, but we know with these ladies on 4 hope, things are going to be okay.

Brought my daughter in for what seems like the flu for the 3rd time in 40 days. Barely touches food or drinks for last 3 days. Came in at 11am, triaged immediately then waited 3+hours. Then reassessed. Clearly hot to the touch but was told machine says other wise. Refused to check it again. Then waited another 2 hours. Finally brought to room to be told that she tested negative and they need to test her urine. Since she's only peed once in 24 hrs it may be a while before she'll pee so I cann go home if I'd like and follow up with her doctor if fever stays for another two days. Told them no. I don't want to leave without answers. They said of course that's completely ok. Spoke to them about fever again. And same response. She said can do rectal if I'd like. Told them yes please because she is clearly hot and needs to be medicated for fever since she tends to spike to 104/105. Yeah nurse left and never came back to check. Never heard of a hospital that desperate to kick out their patients. Finally got her to pee. Was told it was all negative with some dehydration. Ask about IV that they were supposed to administer earlier but since she took 2 sips of juice it wasn't need anymore. Along with the 2 pieces of chips she ate. That was good enough for a sick 3yo apparently. Doctor comes backk and says oh sorry we didn't get full rresulta earlier. Her urine showed some abnormalities so they'll send in her urine again. Asked about blood work but was told unnecessary. And when urine comes back they'll just send her home with antibiotics. Without even confirming anything she said we'll be home in an hour. WTF*update. Left hospital with my daughter not eating or drinking. Urine results came back normal. So wasn't prescribed antibiotics. When it was time to discharge they repeatedly took her temperature unsuccessfully by mouth because it wasn't giving them a clear reading. When they finally got it, it still reads 98°. Got home not even an hour later and test with ear and shows 103.8! Spent 8 hours at the hospital with a fever unmedicated because they refused to work a little more and get correct temperature with a rectal reading. UNBELIEVABLE. Left so disappointed and heartbroken. Was told to come back if fever lasts more than 5 days. I will definitely take her back to ER but NOT to Christ!
This was my second trip to the ER here. The first time was for a car accident and the second after experiencing horrible customer service at a nearby urgent care. The experience here was night and day. We were seen quickly and everyone that we met was very kind to my child (mostly nurses and residents, however her condition did turn out to be a virus). It's three stars instead of five because of this little ditty ---be sure to double check your child's weight! Their scales use kilogram and they then convert it to lbs at check-in (our nurse added about 25 extra pounds which could have been quite dangerous because they provided medication). Luckily she didn't take it.
If you question anything thay will take away your rights bathroom floor is leaking water all over they've been in and out a million times didn't do anything a very upright place to be
Doctor's are questionable in Children's Hospital. Always get a second opinion. Killed my son trying to insert a drainage tube and should not have try it without consulting his regular cardiologist also at Christ. Beautiful hospital terrible doctors.
My daughter was seen here. The nurses were so nice and patient! She was attended very well and wait was minimal. Was out in 4 hours.. thank god.. she got a temporary cast and xrays done. Everyone i met was friendly and patient. Thank youShuttle at request and lots of parking!
My doctor sent us to the er here. We were quickly into a room, and a doctor soon came. They began doing some tests, and were notified on what was up asap. Later, they brought us up to our actual room. Nurses come to check on me every maybe 30 minutes, see if I need anything, check up on my heart beat, etc. Warm and friendly environment. Definitely a very comfortable place that has calmed me down. The nurses are very nice and gentle. Only problem I've had was one of the people doing an ultrasound... not at all gentle, pushing down harder than needed. When we went for a second ultrasound (which was a much better experience), the woman even commented on how bad of a job he did. Other than that, amazing experience here so far (I'm writing this from my bed )

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
