On 11/05 & 06 you performed an upper and lower G.I. on Joyce Carr for bleeding from the rectum. She had not bled until yesterday at home and today. Again, only on the toilet, not in bed or all day in the wheel chair. Discharged from Silver Cross on 11/12 and from Lemont 12/03. Did not bleed. What can we do for the bleeding? If nothing, she will get anemic. If it become heavy, should I take her to Silver Cross and wait 6 hours before an ER doctor's examination? I notified Dr. Karen Will, of which she saw 12/22. Thanks. She is the person who I started my chronic Gi issues with. After minimal testing she couldn't come up with an answer and suggested it was my anxiety and that I should be on antidepressants/antianxiety medicine right away. Then, after reviewing a test result she didn't know was reported the next time we visited, she apologized and explained to me very vaguely what my condition was. She said that I should just do an elimination diet and I should be okay, but I should also go to someone with more knowledge. Dr. Kwan is not well equipped or knowledgeable for chronic GI pain, she seemed very disorganized and not willing to explain things much further or answer questions. She seemed rushed or genuinely disinterested in what is going on with me. Maybe if you're going to her for minor issues, she is good but as far as chronic or more severe issues, she is not a fit. Remember, you're the one dealing with this pain everyday, they are not.
I was a new patient of Dr. Lola Kwan for a colonoscopy in January of 2021. I met with her for a short time before the procedure and found her warm, caring, and informative. Dr. Kwan met with me following the procedure exhibiting her warmth, caring, and informative nature. Dr. Kwan asked about me, explained fully the results, and inquired if I had any questions. With all the concerns and worries I brought, Dr. Kwan was the perfect example of a doctor well-trained in her area of expertise and possessing an excellent way of caring for her patient's needs.
Dr. Kwan seemed short, annoyed, and talked over me when I asked questions about a result. I understand she sees many patients, but she needs to remember that it’s personal to her patients.
I should have read these reviews prior. Like others she didn’t listen and would talk down to me. She did not seem genuinely interested in my problem and was annoyed with any replies I had. I told her I had been having stomach pains. She prescribed protonix and I told her I’d been on them with no help. Her reply.....go see a surgeon. Really? I immediately knew I wasted a copay and my time. Horrible! Zero stars!
The reviews speak for themselves. Numerous 1 or 2 star ratings. This doctor has zero bedside manner. 5 minute appointment and does make one feel stupid. I may not be a docor but I would NEVER treat anyone the way she did. She didn't listen, and was completely condenscending. I had a procedure scheduled and while I was on the gurnee waiting she was bantering and belittling other doctors and nurses that were to assist her during my procedure. The others were professtional but to do that in front of a patient was unacceptable. It was apparent they didn't care for her.
I read the negative reviews about Dr. Kwan and skeptical about my booked appointment. I'm glad I did not listen. I barely waited for her and when she came into the room she asked lots of questions and answered all of mine. I was impressed how thorough she was about my upcoming procedure. Very nice and great bedside manner.
Absolutely terrible. She is awful, do not see her. No doctor is worth waiting 2 hours and is only willing to give you 15 minutes of her time. ZERO STARS GOODBYE
I saw Dr. Kwan about a month ago for a lower endoscopy. I was her first patient of the day and she was about 30 +minutes late. Test went fine. Then I scheduled another appointment with online service for this week. First of all, she has not updated her address on online service, so then I went to the wrong place. When I finally got to the correct place, I was told she WAS ON MATERNITY LEAVE. They said it was a rare incident and that if the Dr wasn't on maternity leave she would have confirmed it. Well, online service confirmed it. I asked if I could see someone else and the staff at the desk said YOU CAN'T DR HOP. That is offensive. Well I would have seen her if she was here, ugh. I contacted online service with what happened and they said all appointments are guaranteed by the Dr. If she was not available, she needed to block off that time. So, apparently this Dr. does not value my time. I will be finding someone else.
I seen Dr. Kwan in her New Lenox office. I left there knowing she didn't listen to a thing I said. I must of repeated the same answers a 6 times. She would ask a question I would give her the answer she would say no that's not why. She would ask the questions over and put her own answer in and I would say no then give her the answer again, very fustrating. She may know precedures & meds but does not listen to her patient at all. I will move forward with my uper & lower test but if I need to follow up I'm diffently finding someone that listens, not rude or condesending. Unbelievable

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
