List of Timothy V Votapka's Reviews
He saved my life plain and simple. I had an aortic root dissection and required emergency surgery on February 10.
Dr. Votapka and his staff were absolutely wonderful with my husband. He was great explaining the procedure and his Nurse Practitioner Michelle was fantastic!! The staff at Good Shepherd was also fabulous!
Dr. Votapka is an excellent surgeon. He communicates well, puts scientific terms in laypersons language. Highly recommended!
I had coronary bypass surgery in March 2001 by Dr. Votapka and I was 56 yrs old. I have not had one problem since and I am turning 75 in a month. He had excellent bed side manners as well!
Dr. Votapka attempted to repair my mitral valve by using a ring used for a child of about 7 years old. According to CLEVELAND CLINIC (#1 cardiovascular hospital in US) the ring was tiny, tiny. After surgery I immediately told him I was dizzy upon standing. I presented with low blood pressure and heart rate, he told me "you will adjust". Surgery by Dr. Votapka resulted in SEVERE MITRAL VALVE STENOSIS. I was a 29 year old woman at the time - his "surgery" caused long term cardiovascular issues. 0 start ratings do not exist.
Today marks the 20th anniversary of my bypass surgery so ably performed by Dr. Votapka back in 1998. I now count birthdays off of this date...which means I'm actually only 20 years old today, not 68. I have had 20 years without a single cardiac issue. I could say I was lucky, but luck has little to do with it. It was Dr. Votapka's competence. His words at my final office visit still ring true: "Tony, don't become a 'victim' of your heart disease, go live a full life". I listened to him!
Dr. Timothy V. Votapka, recently placed a Endovascular Stent Graft to treat my Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm. My surgery was done at Good Shepherd hospital in Barrington. I felt that he took the time to explain the entire procedure, he worked with me to reschedule my surgery to a earlier date, both him and his staff were very professional and attentive to my needs. Everyone was absolutely fantastic and I would definitely recommend Dr. Timothy V. Votapka and his team to anyone. Your in great hands wi

Dr. Votapka repaired my mitral valve prolapse. According to Cleveland Clinic he used a ring which was too small, resulting in severe mitral valve stenosis. Because of his incompetence I had numerous miscarriages, and will never be able to have a family. He told me I would adjust to the dizzy spells and my blood pressure would get better. The same hospital where he performed the surgery conveniently couldn't figure out what was wrong. Cleveland Clinic diagnosed and repaired his mistake.
Dr. Votapka performed mitral valve repair which resulted in severe mitral valve stenosis. I had immediately experienced extremely low blood pressure and dizziness, lethargy he said I would adjust. I began having atrial fibrillation which could only be converted through Cardioversion. According to Cleveland Clinic where I had repair mitral valve surgery the ring Dr. Votapka used was much too small causing the severe mitral valve stenosis. . This butcher job wreaked havoc on my life as it affected every aspect of my life. I was unable to have a family, I wasn't able to keep up with everyone on vactions so I stopped going, I had to get rid of my horses as I didn't have the stamina to ride. I didn't even have the energy to go to my winter home in Florida. This surgeon ruined my life as he didn't know what he was doing.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
