Dimitri is pretty good for the most part but John was amazing
Loved coming here. Everyone was extremely professional and knew what they were doing. Would highly recommend seeing the PT John. Also their rehabilitation aides were trained extremely well for part time staff.
If I could give negative stars, I would. I was misinformed and was told something completely different about information on billing. Even though they screwed up, I have to take the hit for it. The customer service from the regional manager was completely awful. I will never recommend anyone to go here. They scam you and all they care about is money.
Great people - very knowledgeable and thorough.I had a bad experience at another facility, quit going to PT. My podiatrist wanted to send me again - I said OK, but I described what happened and said, 'I need your best guy.' He said go Athletico Palatine and ask for Arc. It's a little out of the way for me but definitely worth it. Night and day better than the other place.
I have been a client of Athletico Palatine -Midtown five times since 2008. A back fusion, two shoulder replacements and two knee replacement. The support I received each time was outstanding, the physical therapist were extremely knowledgeable and professional. I always found it easy to schedule PT appointments, and when necessary, adjust schedules due do last minute conflicts. Facilities and the equipment are excellent, several parking spaces are reserved in front of the facility for Athletico clients, which can be very important if walking is a challenge. I highly recommend this facility and it's staff.
My son had chronic back problem since age 6 after having a fracture in his arm. The pain went undiagnosed by paediatricians till he turned 14. Finally, when the paediatrician was satisfied that there could be something significant, she recommended paediatric orthopaedic and finally after useless treatments, he recommended physical therapy. 3 times a week for 3 weeks and the pain was gone. I cannot start to tell the kind of support these people at Athletico at Palatine gave. From appointments and recommending that my son work with same therapist every time and adjusting and rescheduling our appointments, these people were great. Dana was our physical therapist who even gave her phone number for us to contact her any time we needed her and told us that we could contact her even after we stopped therapy, just in case my son starts getting pain again for some reason. I can understand concern of a mother of 14 year old that one physical therapist did not work with her daughter consistently but honestly, I stayed with my child throughout 1 hour he was there and yes, the therapist would come, teach him exercise, give a sheet describing the exercise and go for 5-10 minutes and my son continued with the exercise alone till he was to be moved on to a different exercise. This way, she would go and do whatever other work she needed to attend to and my son continued doing the exercises. She would also give him required massages between or after exercise to strengthen the muscles. In 3 weeks the pain was gone and I have reason to believe that they know what they were doing. I am not sure when we take appointment, the therapist is exclusively for us or its okay to share our therapist with other clients. However, their current system worked for my son and I have no complaints. The place was clean.
Decent environment. A bit pricey. Deepa is fantastic, ask for her. She is very capable, caring, and talented. I recommend.
My infant daughter has been receiving acquatic physical therapy at Athletico, twice a week for the past several months. I have been thrilled with her therapist who is talented and professional. We drive from Chicago, twice a week because I have had a difficult time finding a facility that will provide acquatic therapy to an infant. Athletico not only took my daughter as a patient without question, her evaluation was scheduled for the following day and her therapy began two days later.
I have attended Athletico for over one year. I have unfortunately had three accidents. I had a ulnar nerve transposition, and two rotator cuff repairs. First I want to say no one has asked me to write this. I often look at yelp and found the first comment while surfing this site. I have 3 boys and know how hard it is as a parent when they are in pain from sports, or injuries. Speaking from my personal experience with this company I think your anger is misplaced. Your daughter had an injury and it hurts, they normally do. I know the things they ask you to do might seem babyish and boring, however they work. Is it painful sometimes? Yes it takes time to heal and every one there is doing their best for you. I have never felt slighted from my therapist. Yes they use timers, yes they have interns, and no this does not diminish your recovery, and when your with a intern or timer they are still within eyesight and hearing of your therapist. For me that means they know when your not doing it right and will correct you on the spot. When you go to a Dr. they often have physicians assistance. when want a flu shot you now can go to a pharmacist. Why should this be any different. Did you know that most of all Palatine Athletico physical therapist have doctorate degrees. I have got to know these people at Palatine Athletico quite well during my recovery. I know you might think this is a plug for them from your comments but i assure you it is not. It is however the truth. I also think you need to know yes they are busy but all the patients are not for one therapist, there are many therapists who service all these patients. They work as a team and are always looking at all the patients. The last thing I want to say is about the timer. As you work through and get to know your routine yes you do work on your own but again still under supervision of your therapist so you are always covered. By the time you know your routine it is not unusual to complete it yourself. Remember all injuries take time and sometimes ( including me) do not have the patients to allow it to happen, We want it to stop hurting and be fixed now!!! Sorry doesn't happen. I guess if your not happy you can go somewhere else and if thats the case good luck . I will say as a father of 3, If my kids needed any type of physical therapy I would bring them there. Good luck with your daughter and I wish her a speedy recovery.
Athletic- NO!My daugher went there, and as I told the manager who phoned me to follow-up with our complaints, the only unanswered question is where could she have been had she had a dedicated physical therapist, instead of being given a timer and told to do exercises, basically on her own, for 4 minutes at a time. Except for the first visit, each visit consisted of being with a group (often of 3 other patients who appeared to be working with the one therapist), and an aide. The aide was often bewildered, and given instructions from one of the therapists (not the one with whom my daughter had an appointment). My 14 year old daughter cried after what turned out to be her last time there- not because she was in pain, but because she was worried since the aide assigned to her did not appear to know what she was doing. Okay, if you cannot inspire confidence in a 14 year old, how can you think about working with an adult? The whole experience did not inspire any confidence in Athletico. I do not fault the therapist- she was nice, althoug she did directly contradict the surgeon's advice at one point (a little unnerving to say the least). I think the fault is in the Athletico business model, which appears to be get as many patients in at the same time, or overlapping times as you can. I do have to say that, after I indicated that I would be watching out for my 20% co-pay (to see what exactly I was paying 20%), the manager offered to reimburse my insurance company any fees they had received. I think that was a fair compromise because I am still not really sure of the value of the services my daughter received. The place could also do with a bit of sprucing up, and some deep cleaning.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
