When I first came to see Kathi, I was in excruciating and constant pain from TMJ disorder. A physical therapy book on TMJ helped a little (more than pain killers, which didn't help at all), but I was several months away from being able to see an orofacial pain specialist, and I was becoming more depressed that I would suffer from this pain for the rest of my life. In the middle of the third or fourth completely sleepless night, I ended up on the National Institute of Health website searching for anything that might help, and I learned that acupuncture was proven to be helpful for TMJ in some people. My new functional medicine doctor referred me to Kathi, and I am so happy she did. Not only did Kathi's knowledgeable and compassionate care get me to a point where I could sleep again and eat solid food without pain, but she has also helped with joint inflammation caused by RA (did I mention I also suffer from that?), stress tension caused by work, and the hot flashes and hormonal disruptions that just made everything else even more miserable. In each session, Kathi listens carefully and asks follow-up questions that actually get to the root of problems (unlike many traditional doctors, who only have a few minutes and no time to actually listen). I am so glad that I found her, and I heartily recommend her -- she may just change your life for the better, like she did mine.
