Surgery was the last thing I wanted but when it became very painfully obvious that was my way back to a normal life, I knew I was in good hands with Dr. Rich at the helm. I had a microdiscectomy that also changed my life. I was back to work within 12 days, and skiing 4 months later. Dr. Rich is an amazing doctor! Highly recommend!

He was patient and answered all of my questions at my consult appointment. He had a positive attitude, but was very honest about what to expect and the discomfort I would experience. After surgery he came to my hospital room every day I remained there (3 nights) to check on my progress etc. I’ve been home for a week now and feel better every day. I’m confident he did an outstanding job on my back fusion.

I met with Dr Rich earlier in the year, he was anxious to do surgery on my neck. I told him that most people I talked to said do surgery as a last resort and asked about trying less invasive procedures first to see if it would address the pain and headaches. At the time he agreed. After the less invasive procedures failed I asked to meet again to discuss the surgery. They required I get another MRI after which I got a puzzling call from Dr Rich apologizing for missing my call (I hadn't called him) and that things looked "the same on my MRI" so he DIDN'T recommend surgery. So I called multiple times trying to get clarification. (Why was he ready to go previously but when "nothing changed" between MRIs he didn't think he should do it?) He never returned my calls and the staff I spoke to were very rude. Communication and responsiveness is as important as treatment, IMO, so I'd recommend someone else besides Dr Rich.

I can’t believe I haven’t left a review here yet. Dr Rich honestly saved my life. I had a herniated and ruptured disc at L5 S1. The pain was so excruciating down my left leg. The sciatic nerve was almost completely pinched off from the disc herniation and so the pain was just unbearable. I hadn’t been able to sit down or lay on my back for over a month. I saw Dr after Dr trying to do anything to help but we then got to a point where we felt like surgery was the only answer. I got in to see Dr. Rich and got scheduled for surgery quickly. He and his whole team were absolutely incredible. Like I said earlier they saved my life...it sounds dramatic but it is so true. It’s been almost two years since my surgery and I still feel so so grateful for Dr. Rich and the amazing job he did with my surgery. I would recommend him to anyone and everyone!!

Very attentive, gives you a complete summary of what you’re dealing with, and what measures would be the best, to deal with the situation. Actually shows a real interest in what’s best for you. The best.

This is an update to previous review...2 weeks to the day after the initial failed attempt at finding clogged drainage tubing and to alleviate extreme pressure and crippling head pain from my little brothers shunt Dr Rich went back in and must have taken the proper amount of time to prepare and then to execute the procedures to help him find and thankfully fix the problem. That being said I am still unhappy that this result could not have been accomplished the first time around. To me, Dr Rich could have taken more time (it was two days prior to July 4th) to study the extensive charts or to listen to the experiences from my parents through 29 years of shunt surgeries to be able to avoid a second surgery and two more weeks of debilitating pain. I do appreciate that Dr Rich is a man of faith and was able to call upon that faith and the faith of the many prayers said on behalf of Mckay and blessings given on the eve of his surgery. My hope is that Dr Rich has learned from this experience.

Just recently I met with Dr Rich regarding pain in my neck and results of an MRI that was taken a few months ago. I felt he has genuine care for his patients. He listened tentatively as I explained the motor loss of my right arm and the pain I've had in my neck. I will soon be having surgery and I have no doubt that I will be in excellent care.

He's been one of my favorite doctors. I came out of surgery feeling great!

Dr Rich and his team are worth the wait! I have had a double fusion & discectomy. Dr. Rich & his team truly make you feel like they hear and understand you. They took their time and addressed my concerns. He was an answer to my prayers when I was in extreme pain with my neck & back.

Dr rich is a very special man. He operated on my wife for a brain tumor, which was in a very scary place. He was successful and saved my sweethearts life. I thank you very much and I will always know how special a man you are.
