List of MIchael Layland's Reviews
Long story short Dr. Layland completely dropped the ball when it came to my vocal cyst. He somehow didn't catch that I had a cyst growing on my vocal chord for YEARS (2nd and 3rd opinion) He was careless, irresponsible, and incompetent. Had he listened and followed through with my concerns, monitored my speech therapy sessions he recommended, and performed the proper exams-I still would have needed the cyst removal surgery-but it wouldn't have been a 6 month process of hell and loads of wasted speech therapy time/money that I will never get back. ***My advice: Always get a 2nd opinions and never trust Layland in the ENT field. I am thankful to Bastian Voice Institute for removing my cyst with no scaring and helping to ensure my voice (physically and emotionally) was resored.
Michael Layland is a great doctor and provided great service! However that office manager Melissa is the reason my review is so low. Melissa (Office Manager) was rude and had a very disrespectful attitude. They need better management and more people oriented leaders. I was not satisfied with the service of the front desk at all.
Dr. Layland listened to me and offered options. We started with conservative treatment then proceeded with surgery. I am very pleased with my outcome. I highly recommend Dr. Layland. Additionally, the office staff is very polite and professional.
Please take the time and care with your patients to explain and to listen. They waited a long time to see you because they are in pain. If you just run out of the room and don't ask if they have any questions, it is a wasted visit for the patient.
Melissa should be fired from her position. Melissa is very rude and she is very unproffessional. I had found a better practice and doctor Melissa blocks all of my phone calls on purpose to Doctor Layland and Tojo. Melissa thinks she is the doctor and not an employee of their establishment. This office has gave me hell ever since I've been a patient of theirs. Melissa can go to hell for all I care. The staff acts more like children than proffessional adults.
Easy to get an appointment. Great staff. Very clean, organized and thorough. Can’t say I hear any better. But at least I know what I am up against.
This is my first time to see Dr. Layland. I felt at ease right away when he entered the room. He is very amiable, knowledgeable, and listens attentively to my concerns. He is not in a hurry and takes his time . I thank God for having a wonderful ENT doctor - Dr. Layland. He is the Best ENT doctor I have ever met. At the time all the staff are very respectful and friendly. Dr. Evelyn Natividad 9/2/2021
Every doctor should have Dr. Layland's ability and talent to understand and explain a patient's condition and treatment options. Very knowledgeable, kind and capable.
I have been struggling with a swallowing issue for the past 10 years or so. I saw a different ENT three times, and was never given information about what was causing it, or what I could do to prevent it. Finally, a friend told me to get a second opinion and I lucked into an appointment with Dr. Layland. His manner is delightful, and his attentiveness to the issue was extraordinary. He ordered 2 different tests at Lutheran General, and an appointment with a speech therapist. After all of these years, I finally have some answers to my problem. I'm incredibly grateful that Dr. Layland is as thorough and compassionate as he is. And I'm grateful that I got this second opinion! Thank you very much, Dr. Layland!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
