Robert A. Oppenheim Md's Online Review Report Card

Dr. Oppenheim is superb. I have glaucoma, so go in twice a year for a check-up, but I also bring my kids for their eye exam because I'd rather that be done by an ophthalmologist, not an optometrist. I live in Kansas City, but I am so confident in Dr. Oppenheim that I will not change to a local doctor and make the trip to Illinois.

Very personable doc. Explained the eye issue that I was experiencing, offered solution(s) and I left with a good understanding of the problem and the solution. A+

I have been going to Dr. Oppenheim for several years. He is very personable and easy to talk. He always keeps me updated on new medications for my eye condition. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for that personal service.

Very bad billing service. I took my daughter for an eye exam in Feb 2014 and I did not receive the bill until October of 2016. I used to have BCBS IL my insurance and VSP my eye insurance but not anymore. How can I follow up with the insurance that do not have now for bill more than two and a half years old ? I do not understand how billing company send a bill that is more than two years old.

I was referred to Dr Oppenheim by my primary Dr. After paying my copay and some other charge they said I had to pay, he did the exam. Then the girl up front tells me they have no eye dr since she quit the day before! So they cannot sell me glasses since they have no one to bill them too. I said you should have told me that before I shelled out $75 to you, they said oh, it just happened she left the day before. WELL THEY SHOULD HAVE CALLED ME THAT MORNING. I then had to take my prescription for glasses to Pearle Vision.

I had cateracts in both eyes. Dr. Oppenheim did the surgery on both eyes. Everything went great and it is like I have HD vision now. My husband just found out he has cateracts and we will be using Dr. Oppenheim for his surgery too.

I received excellent care with Dr. Oppenheim. His assistant and office personal are very attentive to your needs. I would recommend him if you are searching for a dr.

The experience with the Dr. was perfectly fine, it was the remainder of the office staff that was a horrible experience. This office was on my Vision Insurance site as an in-network provider, but when I called to schedule, the office staff didn't know that they were within my network and wouldn't schedule me. I finally got so frustrated that I called my insurance, who then had to call the office staff to inform her that they were in my network. Then the contact fitting appointment was a real hassle. Showed up on time, was kept waiting, and then told they didn't have time to fit my sons contacts because the person who does that was leaving for the day, and I'd have to reschedule. Needless to say, the staff was incompetent at best, and we will not be back.

Can't believe your rating with these do ctor. T hink you just found him softspoken. Went to this doctor and he's not referred but that the other referred MD is closed for the day. These doctor has no manners to let me know as to how long he would want me to wait inside his room after putting eye drops to my eye 2x. Just rude! While I heard him busy with his computer and talks with his Sec. And my golly did I vomit after I took a new med that upset my stomach. He hurried out and his Secretary came in though I have my own paper bag where I vomit. He's nowhere to be found but only when his Sec asked him if he's done with me. Told him I feel good after I vomited but I'm not that contagious! Don't go to this doctor. Only shows he has no compassion and dumb.

We've been to Dr. Oppenheim a few times now, and each time he has been wonderful. Very helpful, and we never feel "rushed". So happy to have found him so close to home!
