Steven M Kovar's Online Review Report Card

I recently contacted dr.Kovar’s office in hopes of finding a new healthcare provider for my child. Unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. Upon speaking with Annie, the office manager, I was informed that they are not accepting any new HMO patients. Additionally, new PPO patients are only considered if they are either referred by an existing patient or have a newborn. This policy was communicated in a manner that I found to be quite blunt and unwelcoming. While I understand the importance of a medical practice wanting to prioritize current patients to provide the best possible care, the approach taken by the staff, particularly in communication, left much to be desired. The conversation was terse, and the overall tone was rather rude. This kind of interaction does not instill confidence in the quality of care and empathy one would expect from a pediatrician's office. It's disheartening when a medical office, especially one catering to children, shows reluctance to assist potential new patients who are in need of care. It's a missed opportunity to extend their professional support and expertise to more families. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend this office. The lack of willingness to help and the unprofessional communication style were major deterrents for me.

I can’t recommend Dr. Kovar enough. I have lived in Plainfield for many years, and have been to several pediatricians in the area, but I have never seen such great dedication to a patient before. The Doctor even took the time out to call me at work to discuss my son’s behavioral and medical concerns. Very, very awesome doctor. Most importantly, a very nice person! Thank you.

Kovar is patient and caring. My son agrees to seeing a doctor simply because of seeing Kovar.

Kid's First is fantastic!

I called and they are not vaccine friendly. Can't say that I agree with the logic of you will only see us if I poison my child. Sad the herd mentality!.

Kids First is wonderful!! We love it there. The staff and Drs. are all so very nice. We love them all. We are always seen promptly when we have an appointment. Whenever my daughter has been sick they can see her same day. If I've had to call in to ask a question (which happens a lot with a baby!) they get right back to me. So happy I chose them for our pediatrician.

Worst experience with a doctor. The receptionist were unprofessional . Not the most honest place I've been to . Lied about doctor being in , came in and saw the doctor was there. Slow filling out medical forms. Was told I could only see one doctor , can't go to other pediatrician can if I wanted to come there. Basically make up my mind. .Tries to force unnecessary procedures.

Extremely patient and honest doctor who answered my zillion questions with a smile. Picked up on my son's condition immediately where the prior ped did not. So glad I found him!

Doctors Liberty and Kovar are both wonderful, calm and reassuring providers. They take their time with patients and answer questions fully. Dr. Liberty has seen my daughter since birth and has always been a joy to work with. We've seen Dr. Kovar 1-2 times and he was very pleasant and my daughter seemed to feel at ease with him. My only complaints are with the staff- I've called only a few times with questions for the nursing staff and have received incomplete and inaccurate information from them, specifically regarding breastfeeding. I'd love to see the staff get more education on breastfeeding and to stop automatically asking "What kind of formula..." I feed my child. The office used to be alternative vax schedule friendly but has since changed their position- I followed the standard vax schedule so this wasn't an issue for me but imagine it might have been for others. Overall a wonderful practice but if you have breastfeeding questions seek out an IBCLC or LLLI counselor.

He is awesome. He jokes and makes you feel comfortable. He is very knowledgeable. we Love him but i agree with the other comments. his staff is not the best. I needed a signed list of immunizations for my daughter to begin daycare. they delayed in getting it to me so I had to start her in daycare later than i intended. Also I had a concern after a round of shots and called the office. Noone ever got back to me!
