I had a colonoscopy done by Dr. Barbagiovanni on 9/12/2021. I woke up the following morning with severe lower back pain.On 9/14/2021, I told the person who did a follow up wellness check phone call from Quincy Surgical Center about the severe pain.On 9/15/2021 I went to my primary care doctor because of the pain. He gave me a steroid shot and a prescription for a muscle relaxer which I took for 3 days. He also ordered a urinalysis and x-rays to rule out anything else; test and x-ray were fine.Monday, 9/27/2021, two weeks after the colonoscopy, was the first day I woke up without any back pain.Though I assume my reaction was atypical, I am convinced that something happened during the colonoscopy that resulted in my two weeks of lower back pain and related mobility (i.e. putting on shoes) issues.
