My son had pylonidal cyst repair and Dr. Petty was recommended to us by a friend. My paramount complaint was that my son needlessly suffered with open wounds for months postoperatively , merely because Dr. Petty was not current on how this should have been repaired. After 4 months of no progress on a 21 year old healthy guy with no health problems, Dr. Petty failed to refer us to another surgeon. After researching for myself online, we found a surgeon in Eau Claire , Wisconsin . This surgeon was current on a Cleft Lift procedure which was the correct way to surgically repair this problem. I felt Dr. Petty was arrogant and his nurse ,at that time ,was very rude and uncaring. I appealed to risk management afterwards just to help the next poor guy that would come along, and got nowhere. I absolutely would not recommend this surgeon!

I was diagnosed with an umbilical hernia. Dr. Petty was friendly and easy to talk to. He did an awesome job with my surgery. He and his staff took excellent care of me.

I was diagnosed with a single, possible double hernia. Dr. Petty clearly explained the procedure, risks, and expections. It ended up being a double hernia which they found during the operation. The procedure was so much easier and painless than I expected. I was prescribe pain pills for over a week but only used them one day. I was up and walking immediately and exercising the same week. I was so impressed, I just recommended him to my stepson for a similar procedure.
