I wanted to find an eye doctor closer to my home and read the google reviews for Stoneview Eye Care. I am very happy with my decision to move my business here. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful, and the hours are convenient for me. Ryan Hansen is very knowledgeable and takes the time not only to explain what he is doing throughout the exam but also why he is doing it. I would highly recommend this business and appreciate the excellent care I have been given.

I had an amazing experience with Northern Illinois Optical! Made an appointment a week prior to appointment date. The entire process was very smooth and efficient. The optometrist was such a pleasure to work with. Made me feel very comfortable and was thorough with the exam. I’ve been to a lot of different eye places in Rockford and this one is the BEST, by far. Prices were pretty affordable as well. Went for a contacts exam, didn’t use insurance and have astigmatism in both eyes. For the astigmatism exam for contacts fitting and glasses exam everything came out to about 180. I also was sent home with a variety of contacts to try for FREE and they fixed the nose pieces on my existing glasses I’d purchased elsewhere for free! Customer service 10/10. Best place for eye care!

I am ambivalent about using the star system. On the one hand, the optometrist was thorough and competent. On the other, the bifocals that I had to WAIT TWO WEEKS FOR and TOLD NOT TO DRIVE before I get them (SO almost everything was blurry, I can still see stop signs etc!) are nearly intolerable. I paid out of pocket $119 after Humana paid their bit, but I can barely wear these in sunlight. Working with a computer, I have to juggle the glasses into a place between the myopic and reading edges. If I could just have flexible corneas again, I wouldn't be complaining about losing 60% of my focus on these glasses. The frames are pretty, and durable but that's about the only part I got to choose. I do NOT recommend the lens makers. I should NOT have more trouble seeing after spending time and money just to have my vision corrected.

In September I called the number to leave a message to make an appointment. I got a call back a week later to get an appointment IN DECEMBER! I go down there today and THEY DON'T HAVE AN APPOINTMENT FOR ME. They couldn't even find me in the system! My family have spent $1000 in that place at least and I can't even get an appointment. UNPROFESSIONAL! We will be going somewhere else from now on.

I have been getting my contacts there for years. The main reason was because theie exam prices were competitive. Just last year I paid $45. Today the exact same exam was $110. I will not go back!

Went for the first time last spring. Had to go back 3 times as the glasses were not correct. 2nd time they came up with a different prescription, 3rd time they went back to the first prescription but the glasses are still not correct. Didn't bother going back after that and won't be back, as it was a waste of time and money.
