List of Rosecrance Griffin Williamson Campus's Reviews
I asked my parents to get me help in December 2019 when I was 17 years old and ended up at Rosecrance. At this point, I was using illegal drugs and came into the facility with a diagnosis of Bipolar, ADHD, and Anxiety. Because of my drug use, I was put into that unit instead of the mental health one. Let me tell you, this place does NOT treat dual diagnosis. In fact, I would go as far as to say I was medically neglected. I guess they had this "policy" that if a child was admitted and currently on medication they got put at the top of the list to see the doctor. When I arrived at Rosecrance, I was CLEARLY manic. I mean, VERY CLEARLY. I was there FOUR weeks and NEVER saw the doctor. I am smart. I advocate for myself. I cried and begged to see a doctor almost daily for 4 weeks. My parents repetitively called requesting I saw the doctor. They would agree, then never follow through. I watched girls come in every few days and see the doctor by the next day. This destroyed me mentally. I felt like I wasn't worthy of care. By the end of the 4 weeks, I had gone almost a whole two days without sleep. Still begging to see the doctor with no follow through. This led to me having a psychotic episode and being taken away in an ambulance to the ER. Finally, at the ER, I was given medication. I never should have gotten to the point of psychosis. Rosecrance had FOUR weeks to help me, and they did not. Now I will say the counselors that were with us daily were amazing. I still keep in touch with 2 of them. Even they were BEGGING for me to see a doctor. If one day I was to take action against Rosecrance, I undoubtedly know they would get on the stand in my defense. I still suffer from nightmares of the psychosis. They may think that because the rate of full recovery from addiction and mental illness is low they can treat us however they want. Well I did recover. I went to college 6 months after leaving Rosecrance and graduated with a perfect GPA. I am now a 7th grade language arts teacher. And although it's been 5 years, I want my experience to be heard. Rosecrance, it is vital that you get rid of whatever absurd policy you have in place that denies patients care from a doctor simply due to the fact that they are not currently taking medication. You should know that bipolar patients frequently deny medication. I had been on countless medications before Rosecrance and it is absolutely appalling that since I was refusing medication when I was admitted I was treated like garbage and denied the medical care that I deserved and my parents paid a hell of a lot of money for. My parents deserve the insane amount of money they paid for my "care" at Rosecrance back.
listen.. i have never left a review on anything but this needs it.. i went here two years ago and i hated every second of it from beginning to end.. i was in the "angels" part (aka the mental issue girls). i was being threatened by other girls in my group for days on days and i was crying to staff and my mom every single day begging them to get me out because i was getting WORSE than i was when i came in. nobody listened, not once. finally i told them i wanted to just go back to Timberline Knolls (which i had been to about a year or two before this) and still it took a couple days but FINALLLYYY they transferred me. i havent been back at a hospital/residential in almost three years now mainly because i am horrified of ever going to one again.. all because of this god forsaken place...
I went to rosecrance: They lie and say they preform mental health services, but all they do is traumatize you. They push the fact that "you have an addiction and you have a problem" even if you didn't go there for addiction and went for mental health. Over 5 years later I still have PTSD from the horrors that occurred here. Please NEVER let your children come here. The staff will force your child to lie and say they are fine (I was yelled at if I even hinted there was something wrong to my parents). The staff will also call the parents to tell them everything's fine and there is nothing to worry about. This place is evil, the staff doesn't care about anyone in their care. The whole "mental health" part is a money grab. There is no dedicated mental health ward. How is it a good idea to put someone that has suicidal tenancies with people who are detoxing off of hard drugs like herion. This was a disturbingly horrific experience, you are NOT being a good/responsible parent by sending your kid here. I’ll also add that the staff is extremely rude to your children. They act nice with parents around but that all changes once you’re alone. The interview lady was extremely rude to me, a kid who had just tried to kill themselves days prior. There is rampant bullying by staff and peers, I had the absolute worst 36 days of my life here.
This facility saved my life. The staff is amazing. The facility is amazing. You have to want to be there and participate in everything to get the most out of it your life is on the line by utilizing this treatment. Only thing I wish was that they were more strict and we had less free time. I wish some of the night staff planned their lessons ahead too. This is coming from a 30 yr old working professional who wanted to be here not someone complaining about not getting five more minutes of their cell phone or sleeping during group. Staff needs to be more strict with lazy people. Also I wish we didn’t have to take the soiled linens down I think that should be a maintenance item since they have proper gloves etc.
Very clean and professional looking campus. Staff was wonderful as well.
my sons had a interview to come here for treatment my son is 13 years old who has been through a lot of trauma and sufferers with severe depression and anxiety and drugs he stated he started getting high to make himself happy and that it takes away his pain and makes him forget which were his exact words and also in the documents that were given to the treatment center. Over the last 5 years my sons gone to inpatient a few times and PHP and has done therapy. 2 weeks ago my son attempted suicide and had a 3 hour stand off with the police threatening to hurt them so that they would have to shoot him and kill him because he didn’t want to be alive anymore and wanted to be with his dad who had passed away. My son did overdose that night and spent 3 days in pediatric ICU. During the interview all notes and documents from the hospital/Behaverial hospital were given to this place and my son admitted to everything and how he struggles with severe depression and anxiety and uses because it takes his pain away he also struggles with anger because he holds his pain in. Yesterday I got a call from the lady he did the interview with for her to tell me he doesn’t meet criteria but she suggested he does need severe PHP treatment and a therapist. I then asked her if he doesn’t meet the criteria what were the criteria?she stated We treat kids with severe depression and anxiety, and drug use I stayed which my son has all of that and it is to the point he tried to end his life 2 weeks ago the lady was rude and snobby but also just kept saying she won’t take him and to get outside help. Even the sheriff who is helping me because my son did require a negotiator during his suicidal stand off with the police and the hospital he is in right now they are all flabbergasted by the fact this lady rejected him as he meets all the criteria. The lady also told me to find him help else were. I am so beyond angry right now as I have been fighting for my Sons life for 5 years and trying to get him the help. I told the lady he tried to end his life he attempted it how much more depressed does she need him to be many doctors and again the cops have everything and gave it to this place in prayers they can help my son and my son wants the help and he was once again failed. Definitely don’t need a treatment place that apparently doesn’t care or staff that is extremely rude and has the nerve to tell me she thinks he needs major help and not to mention she pushed me off the phone and promised to give me a call back last night and never did. I guess I’m glad he was rejected I don’t need me son at a place who made it clear he needs to be dead in order to help him but also around staff they are dismissive and ignorant
I was a resident at this facility in Spring of 2019. This is not going to be a positive review, but it is based on my own experience. I acknowledge how the professionals at this facility have helped others, but this was not the case for me. At the time of discharge, I thought that the place just was not right for me since the staff was unequipped to treat my OCD; however, what I remember most from my stay at Rosecrance was a presentation on "healthy" eating. Initially, I thought that it was just another presentation that I did not care for; however, I developed an eating disorder only one month later. My eating disorder started with restricting my food intake. During that time, something that the presenter at Rosecrance stuck with me: "Eat only until you are satisfied. Do not eat until you are full." I never had problems with eating until after my stay at Rosecrance, but I was always insecure about my weight. In other words, I was vulnerable. Some of the other girls already had eating disorders, and I noticed that they began to eat less as well during their stays. It astounds me that a mental health center would have a professional give a presentation that promotes eating practices similar to the Gwen Shamblin's Weigh Down Workshop. I can only hope that Rosecrance has improved their practices since I've been there. I had seven more hospitalizations and one more residential in the following two years after I was discharged from Rosecrance. I wanted to get better, but I was not receiving good treatment for me. It has been over four years since being discharged from Rosecrance, and I still have problems with eating. If you're reading this and struggling with an eating disorder, this is not the place for you if Rosecrance is the same as it was in 2019. You deserve to have presenters that are aware of the impact of their teachings. You deserve to have staff that care for you rather than simply telling you that you will go back to inpatient if you do not eat more while giving no encouragement. You deserve and are allowed to be cared for.

went to the crance in 2020 during the summer time. place was beautiful and most of the staff were understanding and had really good life lessons that have stuck with me to this day. the building was nice and clean from what i remember. when i went i didn't want to be there at all and the 38 days was a drag but when i was out and thought about the times i had there with all the people who had the same problems as me i realized that it was a a very necessary and important part of my life. it caused me to get sober off of many things and learn how to be at peace with who i was. the sessions of everyone talking about certain topics were what i remember most, the little moments that i had that changed my life at that place will never be forgotten either. i sometimes wish i could experience it again but like the staff say they never wanna see my face again. and well, they haven't since and hopefully never will.
Kids were peeing on other kid's beds, they were stealing pillows, using the "n" word as well as other racial slurs, they were screaming and acting up and the staff did nothing. They told the kids they were untrained! My kid said it was extremely stressful and kids were acting like savages. I am so unimpressed! It was nothing like what I was told it would be on the phone.
