Dr. Kay is the best. He a great way about him how he explains his treatment plan. His team is caring, efficient and very knowledgeable. The whole team has a wonderful attitude, Christy my Primary RN explains everything that's going to happen with my Chemotherapy treatment plan while it's happening and answers my questions well. They make chemotheorpy process very as pleasant as possible.

Dr. Kay does not explain the severity of aggressive cancers to his patients. He filled my father with false hope, as my father said, 'he speaks about chemo as if he is pulling a tooth.' It's not simple and in our vulnerable states, he made us believe that things were looking good. He overlooked that my father's cancer had spread to his spine, claiming that he never sees this happen so therefore it's ok that he didn't find it- after my father complained about back pain consistently. Never did they think to order a back MRI. Because of his negligence, my father could not walk during his last month of life. STAY AWAY from this doctor and this practice. It has a very superficial feel and you feel as though you are a number, not a person. I did not like this doctor from the beginning but my father wanted to go through with chemo so I stuck it out. Oncologists who don’t tell terminally ill patients their actual predicted survival rates and the truth are the scum of this Earth and I don’t know how they sleep at night.

Most impersonal doctor who has little to no concern about late stage cancer patients quality of remaining life. It seems his ego wants him to be a specialist of all cancers, so beware and definitely seek 2nd & 3rd opinions from doctors outside of the area. He has no desire to explain anything to patient & family. Seriously lacks multi-disciplinary approach to treating all side effects of cancer (physical, mental, nutritional). He displayed a complete lack of compassion throughout 6 mths of treatment. Not a guy who is going above and beyond for anyone but himself.

This is a very busy practice. Overall I am satisfied with my care - I really don't have anything to compare it to (Oncology wise). So far I'm still alive, so I'll give this man some credit for that. I just wish he was a little more personable. But I suppose in his field he needs to keep some distance between himself and the patients he's treating for obvious reasons.
