I wish there was a portal where I can access my visit notes. It would help me to understand his perspective and my own condition better and help me to make better decisions about my care. My primary doctor and all the other physicians I go to post notes for me to see on their portals.

I think I’m actually healing well from my surgery and have been following all the recommendations I was given. He’s been supportive in his own way and his medical assistant has been very helpful in getting my questions between visits answered - I appreciate them for that. I just hate the long waits and do often feel rushed at my visits and forget questions I have when I’m there because of that.

I had Dr. Aranow perform full ankle replacements on both ankles. I have found him to be a extremely skilled surgeon and he exhibits real empathy for his patients, but the real evidence of his skills and the kind of a person he is, is the very high regard his coworkers and staff hold for him. Their respect and affection is palpable.

Dr. Aronow performed reconstructive surgery on my ankle several years ago after a head on motor vehicle accident. What was scheduled to be a two hour procedure became four. My quality of life became a 100% better following that surgery. I’m sure people with office appts. that day were annoyed as well. He is worth waiting for.

I would give zero stars if I could. To say I am disappointed in my appointment is an understatement. I waited an hour and a half for my appointment and received no apology from Dr. Aronow or the nurse who brought me back for how late they were running. My appointment lasted 20 minutes in which time I felt very rushed by Dr. Aronow and that my concerns as the patient were not listened to. I felt like because this appointment was for a second opinion that he did not care to offer a thorough assessment or spend the time necessary to listen to me as the patient and make me feel comfortable and like my concerns were valid. I was being seen for an ankle reconstruction surgery and as a 21-year-old athlete, undergoing such a drastic surgery at a young age is concerning to me and I wanted a second opinion to ensure I had the best surgeon performing my surgery. I am very frustrated with the lack of care and attention that I received at this appointment and felt that it was run as a business.

Today's appointment was devastating I told that I must stay and remain in pain until my surgery that there is nothing he can do my ankle issue is severe enough to require surgery but not severe enough to be prescribed pain medication to alleviate the pain so that I may just have normal daily function. We have tried a topical pain medication we have tried the cortisone shot we have doubled up on my Gabapentin all of these have not touched the severity of the pain that I feel in my left ankle and now projected surgery is November 24th but in the meantime I must remain in such severe pain and it is causing my already high blood pressure to Skyrocket because of the stress my body is under because of the pain and I am having anxiety attacks because of the severity of the pain that I am in. To be honest I am afraid partially to have him do the surgery on the 24th and in fear he may leave me and post-surgery pain. I will keep this post updated.

Dr. Aronow had cured my heel pain 4 yrs ago. Impressed by his brilliant knowledge and compassion, I went to him again with other problems .He attentively examined and explained the alternatives available. He is an excellent doctor who gives the best care to his patients. I have no complain about the waiting time because all his patients deserve his best attention. Underneath his professional no none sense manners, which might be perceived as being "cold" or "rush", is the willing to listen, identify, and explain problems in order to give the best care. I have a lot of different issues with my feet and so far every issue I’ve seen him for has gotten better. He’s very smart and I feel like he remembers me and all the different areas of my feet that I’ve had problems with. I’ve been to a lot of doctors and have found that some of the ones that act like they care and act friendly/talkative really don’t care/aren’t the best listeners or not clinically strong . One of my past doctors had a really high rating on this site - everyone thought he was so nice but he actually scammed a lot of people and lost his medical license and may go to jail this year. I think Dr. Aronow is nice for not pushing unnecessary procedures on me, being honest with me, and because everything he’s helped me with has gotten better.

Dr. Aranow May be a good doctor however the wait time to see him is ridiculous. I had two appointments which I left without seeing him after waiting almost two hours. I noticed he was seeing people that came in long after I did and just left me waiting in the room. Sooo I left. Time to find another doctor.

I read a few of these reviews about Dr. Aronow, and felt compelled to share. I used to compete in fitness competitions, and dance, and after trusting a podiatrist with my case, I was horrified to learn that my surgery to repair what I thought was some minor wear and tear on my left foot, was completely unsuccessful, and left me in devastating shape, and incredible pain. I spent years letting this doctor try to repair what he did, with no luck. Eventually, after no longer being able to walk, and needing to move back to CT, I was referred to Dr. Aronow while he was still at the UCONN Medical Center as the head of Foot and Ankle Surgery. The Orthopedic Surgeon who saw me for the first second opinion was honest with me and said,"this case is out of my league, I am going to make a personal phone call to the best foot and ankle surgeon in the state". That surgeon was Dr. Aronow. The staff make it VERY clear that Dr. Aronow is a highly sought after Physician, and if you are waiting to see him for the first time, PREPARE TO WAIT. It states it on your introductory paperwork. My dad and I brought books, and magazines, and snacks. We waited several hours, as Dr. Aronow sees his patients who are post-op or inpatient at the hospital before he sees the less urgent cases. Isn't that the kind of treatment you would want if you just had surgery??? He is not lovey dovey and warm, no, but he is brilliant, and the entire time he is examining you, you see the wheels turning, and know that he is figuring out how to SAVE YOUR FOOT. I would take a qualified surgeon over a care bear any day. He gave me honest and realistic expectations, warned me of the potential risks, and together we came to a care plan that I was comfortable with. Dr. Aronow fused my first MTP joint after removing the damaged joint, and saw me RELIGIOUSLY over the next several weeks to monitor my pain, take x rays of the healing process, and ensure that I was abiding by my after care plan. You DO NOT wait as long in your post op visits as you do in the first consult. Lets be clear on that. He saw me for 2 more reconstructive type surgeries after that first major surgery to get me back to a place where I could live relatively pain free for the rest of my life. I am thankful today for Dr. Aronow, because without his intervention, I am certain that I would not be as active as I am today, and could perhaps have lost part of my foot altogether. Thank you Dr. Aronow if you are reading this, you gave a young woman, with WAY TOO much life left to live, her life back. You were worth the WAIT!!!!!!
