Dr JOhnston is very competent and very compassionate. Our mother is a dialysis patient at RAH and Dr J has always been extremely helpful in providing the right info we need to help us make the decisions she needs regarding her health care. He took time out of a busy saturday to help us understand the process of discontinuing dialysis and offered to sit with us to help mom come to an informed decision. Recommend this doctor highly

I work as a nurse at the RAH at which he is the chief of medicine. Most doctors think they are above nurses and generally treat us like dirt. Every time I see this man he ALWAYS has a smile. I often pass him in the parkade and he always holds the door open. I am very proud to work at this hospital under such a kind and intelligent man, but I do wish he could 'clean house' in the medicine management dapartment!!!

I first met Dr. Johnston when I was a Critical Care Patient, before he was an Internist, and a Nephrologist--unbelievable! I was in ER, and very frightened, and about to be intubated. This absolutely delightful man sat very close to me, and talked to me, at length, reassuring me. I will NEVER forget him!
