List of Gabor Matos's Reviews
dr Matos had a ct scan done to see where we are on the next procedure......decision is going to be next month (april 2022)....& we take it from there....seems as though a lot of docs know him from before & like & respect him..........sounds good to me
My husband was admited to St Johns, Dr Matos was on call I felt he didnt have time to on another case that night and I understood that but when he finally took my Husband into the Heart cath and put in a stent , He never call or touch base with my husband and I the whole time he was in there, my husband finally ask the floor doctor and she was the one to call me and explained the procedure
Dr. Matos has been my cardiologist for about 8 years. A few months ago, I had an abnormal exercise stress test and that doctor referred me to Dr. Matos. He did a cardiac catheterization and found a 70% blockage of the LAD - but since it is located where the artery bifurcates, he couldn't insert a stent. He assured me that research is being done on new stents that could be used in this situation, but they aren't on the market yet. Dr. Matos is always glad to answer my questions, no matter how busy he is!
If I could leave 10 stars I would. Dr. Matos was the cardiologist on call at St. Johns Hospital when my mom needed to have an emergency heart procedure. He corrected a misdiagnosis and saved my mothers life. He even gave me his cell phone number and has texted with me multiple times about her care.
While running on a treadmill at a local fitness facility in July 2011, I suffered a fatal heart attack, but was brought back to life by a cardiologist, male nurse, and medical student who just happened to be at the gym that same day. That cardiologist who supervised my CPR was Gabor Matos. The following day, he performed a cath/stent operation on my Right Coronary Artery. I was awake while he performed the operation, and he performed it as if he had done it many times. Since that operation, I have never had a heart attack or passed out during exercise. He has given me excellent care ever since. Anyone seeking an excellent Interventional Cardiologist, should contact Dr. Matos.
Wonderful care!!
The Doctor is good but the nurse took for ever to call you back I tried twice two different times and and it 2-3 days before the ever call me back good thing it was serious problem.
I was in a terrible car accident that severed the main artery to my heart. He lead the team that saved my life. That was 2006 and I've been seeing him ever since. Also has time for me and very polite. I highly recommend him!
Does not value his patients time or concerns!!
This man dumped me. After all the testing he said nobody in Springfield could help me. I thought that could happen so I asked for a referral to Cleveland Clinic. He refused to do this, told me to do it myself. I was devastated. I could not walk more than ten feet before starting to pass out. Luckily I knew other physicians from his clinic, called them and they took care of me. What Matos did was not legal or moral. Stay away! On a side note, no nurse that I have met would go to him. Always listen to the nurses.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
