My first experience with Dr Christy was in 2002. I had a very leaky aortic valve that had to be replaced. He recommended a mechanical valve that would last the rest of my life but after some research and weighing the pros and cons I chose a tissue valve. He said the lifespan was around 10 years. At 14 yrs in, 2016 it tore and I got very very sick fast like he told me I probably would and long story short I got an infection that almost took my life. I ended up having 2 valves replaced and a pacemaker. It’s been 3 years and my health is great and I owe it to Dr Christy’s knowledge and experience. I was in the hospital for over 3 weeks and he came into my room every night to check on me. I was so fortunate he was still practicing in Springfield when I needed him the second time. Having open heart surgery is a very traumatic experience to go through and I would recommend Dr Christy. His staff was also friendly and helpful.

I can't brag enough. Dr. Christy was very informative before and after my surgery. Made me feel very comfortable, when I was scared out of my mind. He showed genuine concern for my feelings of fright and for my progress of recovery.

I'm not very good at writing what I feel, so this is very basic and straight to the point. 3 way bypass was required. He talked to me in such a way that he made me feel like he knew me prior to the procedure and during all follow-ups. This was done during times that I was very scared, but he kept me calm because of his personal and friendly "bedside manner". I later had complications (not his fault) and he was even more calming then. I sincerely fell that no one could've done a better job. He takes the time to talk !! Monte Popham

I had a aortic valve gone bad, really bad. I was overweight. 1 doctor said i should lose weight but Chtisty said there is no time. My aorta was in bad shape, fixed it , but my heart wouldn't start be he wouldn't stop, shocked 13 times n im still here! What a great doctor. I in can't stress enough to get this guy to do your surgery

Dr Christy and his staff were very friendly, always willing to explain things so you could understand. They were all very understanding with family and it was the very best experience for myself and family after 12 days in the hospital. We would recommend him to anyone.
