List of Steven Bowers Md's Reviews
Dr. Bower is outstanding. I appreciate his knowledge and caring attitude.
Been both my kids dr. He is great
Been sick with anxiety and endometriosis since I was fifteen. Recently went back to bowers complaining of nueasea, vomiting, and back pain. He barely looked at me and said it was viral, when I fought him on it he finally ordered test. His nurse called back a few days later saying I had a cyst on my kidney when I asked her what to do next she caught an attitude and hung up. When they FINALLY called me back the SAME nurse tells me it’s my endometriosis and bowers can’t do anything for me and to go see my gyno. I fought them on that too because endometriosis does NOT cause cyst on kidneys only ovaries. It’s a never ending battle trying to become healthy again with them. They don’t listen and the staff is rude. Would definitely not recommend
Thorough, listens and explains well.
My family and I love Dr. Bowers and his staff, they are caring and take time to make sure all our concerns are addressed.
Dr. Bowers is an excellent physician. He has always answered all of my questions very clearly and patiently. He spends all of the time needed in my visits and has always referred me to the right specialist when needed. I highly recommend him.
I am a relatively healthy old guy and Dr. Bowers is all I need in primary physician. He's through, efficient, on time and not overly aggressive to prescribe tests, drugs or procedures.
Bowers has been the worst Dr I've ever been to. First appt, he walks in looking down his nose at me, doesn't look at my MRIs or injury history (I was hit by a utility truck while riding a skateboard), looks only at my pain medication and appearance, called me an addict and said he couldn't do anything for me. When I defended myself against his wild accusations, he refused care and has since systematically blacklisted my name from receiving ANY care in Springfield. Bowers is a thug and a criminal with a god complex. Find an actual doctor instead of this hack.
First time I called because my tonsils were so swollen that the prompt care told me to go see my primary or go to the ER. I called as soon as they opened. 8. When did they call me back? They didn't. I called AGAIN at 12 asking what was going on because prompt care told me I would need to be seen either of those places and if they were booked - fine. I'll go to ER. They finally called me back after I called again and said "dr bowers thinks it me viral, it'll go away" without even seeing my throat. Went to ER got the help I actually needed because what do ya know? It wasn't viral. Second time - today. I was off my medication for a month, i started to have severe anxiety attacks and I called as soon as they opened AGAIN, to ask if I needed to be seen or what. 4:20pm rolls around - an attack is happening and I'm thinking they close in 40 minutes? Am I not gunna get a call back? NOPE. I called in and the receptionist said she sent the note to the nurse but the doctors are out today. WOULD HAVE BEEN NICE TO KNOW. I switched doctors. Don't bother with this practice. The whole office is unprofessional and could give 2 cents less if you live or commit suicide.
Medical check-up with cna? office worker? medical office assistant? in the office with us as the dr directed her what to put on file on pc. Very uncomfortable as a man to have a 20 something young lady with a standoffish attitude sit in on what should be a private setting. Only visited once with no desire to return. Apparently doctor patient confidentiality is a thing of the past. My opinion - AVOID!!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
