Terrible place. Left several messages and wrote a letter. No one responded. Terrible just Terrible.

She was very dismissive and rude. I am not going through appointments to help my child, to spend the entire time being told that it has nothing to do with her. Especially as I am simply following the referrals from my doctor, or forcing the allergy issue. She refused a test because of one previously, and spent the entire time trying to prove a possibility I had wrong. To change my mind after it was supposedly made up. I even told her I wasn’t set on it, but I am simply trying to follow the pediatrician’s advice. Her nurse is amazing I will admit, but it is not worth her condescending attitude and defensive words. Even when I thanked her for a suggestion because our searching had found nothing that worked, she verbally attacked me as if I called her idea stupid. I will continue to try to help my child, but I will refuse any further referrals to this doctor.

Rude, refused tests, very dismissive and condescending. She prejudges the situation and becomes very rude if she feels her time was wasted.

She prejudged the appointment. If she feels it is not an allergy issue, then she spends the whole appointment telling you how you are wrong and listing things she won’t do because ‘there is no point’ she is defensive even when thanked for suggestions, and made me feel ashamed for trying to find out how to help my child the best I could, and for following their pediatricians advice. She only talked about turfs, and suggested a life threatening disease as the reason instead of allergies. I can understand if this issue is not a true allergy, but to be that rude to a parent trying to find answers, is not ‘blunt’ or ‘strait forward’. It is a complete lack of empathy and people skills when she ‘feels’ her time is wasted.

We went to her for my daughter's uncontrollable itching. After trying allergy medication which was not effective Dr. Lerner wouldn't give up. She was abrupt, she was curt, but she was also determined to make the itching go away. My daughter's blood work showed "allergy" but Dr. Lerner needed to get to the bottom of it. She ordered several tests, including a chest X-ray. Without Dr. Learner we would not have found the large cancerous tumor that the chest x-ray revealed. The moment she got the results she called Lurie's and got my daughter in for a PET CT that afternoon. Sometimes tenacity outweighs bedside manner (ideally a Doctor has both) but sometimes tenacity is what you need. Would we have found the tumor without Dr. Lerner? Possibly but definitely not as quickly.

She wasn't personable. Spent majority of the time telling us what we did wrong or what she would have done which was unnecessary. The past is over, I'm here for help now. We received previous info from a doctor and we were literally following doctors orders but she went on and on about how it was wrong. I spoke to her over video and her demeanor was rude and abrasive. My husband was there in person with our baby and he even confirmed it, he said she was dismissive as well. We won't be returning and I definitely wouldn't recommend. Health insurance is expensive, we are in a pandemic for christ sake, we all need a caring/empathetic voice. I'm not spending anymore money to be spoken to disrespectfully by a healthcare professional, neither should you. I'm a HCP myself. I treat every single patient with a smile and with a client centered approach, you have to! We didn't get that with her at all. She spent a good chunk of time explaining what she WOULD NOT do and what she WOULD not test for. Waste of time and waste of money.

Horrbible visit. After scheduling an appointment, answering all their questions, filling out all the pre appointment paperwork we arrived at our visit. We again filled out paperwork and answered questions. After waiting a long time we were moved from the waiting room to an exam room. After more waiting this doctor very VERY rudely storms in the room and says "I am not doing an allergy test on your ...

I’m not one to post reviews, but I had a great experience with Dr. Lerner. Despite a communication issue and the private office not accepting BCBS HMO, she went above and beyond to attempt to see my son. While she couldn’t accept our insurance, she sat down and provided a mini consult, which meant the world to me. As advocates for our children, it was appreciated to see a doctor, like Dr. Lerner, who truly cares for each person/child who walks through her door. Thank you!

Trish (nurse)is great. However, Dr. Lerner is very rude and confused. She has horrible bedside manner. This is unexpected for a pediatric allergist, and unacceptable. She is very condescending, even speaking negatively of the doctor who referred my child to her. I would not recommend this doctor. Her nurse has a great attitude, and is the only reason I returned for a follow up appointment. I will not be returning.
