List of Edward G Joy's Reviews
Dr. Daniel Weber was very courteous and professional before and after my knee replacement.
Very professional and caring during my visits, and I had an amazing outcome after my surgery.
I called today to schedule an appointment regarding my shoulder. I spent 22 minutes on hold hung up because my time is valuable and I have other things to do. Never received a callback.
I came to Dr. Joy by referral from my doctor. I had an injury that required a total shoulder replacement at 59 years of age. Dr. Joy is a matter of fact, no nonsense doctor. Dr. Joy provided me with reasonable expectations on what to expect, given I followed up with physical therapy. The day of the surgery went well. The nurses at Palos Community hospital knew what Dr. Joy expected for after care. After a few follow ups, physical therapy started. I chose Integrity Physical Therapy with Dan Lange, which is in the same office as Dr. Joy. Physical therapy is a process that is painful with no short cuts. I was determined to have a great result, and was willing to push to get exactly that. Dan did talk with Dr. Joy a few times during my physical therapy, which I believe to be a real asset. I cannot thank Dr. Joy enough as the results were amazing and much better than expected! I would highly recommend Dr. Joy. In my experience, he is a perfectionist who is an unbelievably talented surgeon.

Dr. Edward Joy was a referral from my primary doctor. I had previously fractured my Scapula. It resulted in my right shoulder being injured. Dr. Joy has provided excellent care for my returning to normal activities. His approach is exploring all options, discussing them with me and making a decision based on his expertise. I know I am in good hands.
I retired from construction, I have had a bad shoulder for the last 10 years up to retirement, worked through the pain, as soon as I retired, I went immediately to a shoulder physician, he gave me as many cortisone shots as a Dr. is allowed. Then telling me surgery was inevitable, considering how bad of shape the shoulder was in, and the amount of arthritis I had in this joint. So he gave me the names of a couple of shoulder surgeons, in which one of them was Dr. Joy. He does not sell surgery, in fact he gave me a couple of options to try and told me I would know when I was ready for surgery, because the pain would be interfering in my life! He was spot on, after a year or so of treatments, I came and told him it was time. We set the surgery up a few weeks later. My first surgery in life at 59 years old, he told me at least 6 month recovery. Have to admit, I was kind of nervous. Not only was the surgery a success, but after 6 months of therapy with Dr. Joys therapy guy, Dan, who is really good also! I am pain free, I do more things now than I did before surgery, can’t say enough about Dr Joy and his staff, from the assistant who gave me my X-rays to Alex his assistant who helped me with my home excersises. They have a really good clinic going, and if you follow their instructions during recovery with a good attitude and drive, I believe Dr. Joy and his awesome staff will get you back to the way you remember you were!
Doesn't believe in physical therapy. Wants to give cortisone injection versus helping me achieve my prior level of activity. He is OK with my shoulder being 60% functional which goes against my active lifestyle. Disappointed
Dr. Weber did my total hip replacement and I couldn't have been more pleased. From the first time I met him until my last visit he was very professional, kind and compassionate.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
