Susan Lyon's Online Review Report Card

HORRIBLE. Over 45 minutes late for my appointment. Dr. Lyons didn’t want to hear anything I had to say as far as my symptoms go etc. proceeded to talk over me and talk poorly about an upcoming surgery I’m having at John’s Hopkins for a completely different problem (thanks for making me feel better doc) and proceeded to NOT look in depth into my ear, nose, or throat. For someone who has a lot to say about another doctor at a top hospital in the nation, she can’t even do her own job by looking in my ear! I don’t think she looked at any of my MYCHART tests or documents from prior doctors. What’s the point of Palos Health and Northwestern Portals merging if you don’t use them? Anytime I tried to explain myself she would correct me, she’d speak over me, and she’d tell me that’s not what I’m here for.. well if I could explain you’d know what I was there for. Over all incredibly frustrating and poor experience and would never go back to her or go to anyone she recommends.

I’ve been a patient of Dr. Lyon’s almost 20 years. Dr. Lyon’s is patient, understanding, professional and takes her time with her patients.

Came into her clinic and discussed my ear issues with her. I was told nothing is wrong and was sent home knowing there was. Went to see my Primary doctor and we addressed all my concerns. He did a thorough exam unlike ENT doctor that barley looked into my ears. PC seen there was an issue and I was prescribed medication and now I’m feeling much better. Horrible experience at this clinic will not be returning! Don’t waste your time and get a second opinion.

This is the place you go if you want horrible service and want a second opinion. The teams bedside manner is horrendous. It seems like they cannot be bothered by you. In my appointment Susan seemed uninterested and like I was taking her sweet time. The woman who does the hearing test is rough. They sent me for a scan and then refused to call for the results from the hospital because it was not a hospital they work with even though she told me to go where my insurance is accepted. When she finally did she called and said you have vertigo and hung up. She did not even perform a balance test. I went to an amazing ENT who performed ALL the test. I was told I did not have vertigo and was misdiagnosed. I then had to go to a family doctor because the ENT said there is nothing for them to do and they apologized for the misdiagnosis I received from Susan. I would not recommend Susan and her team to my worst enemy. Save your time, energy and money and find someone wonderful who actually cares about their patients and not just a paycheck.

My kids saw Dr Lyon for recurrent ear infections and strep. She inserted tubes and later took out my son's tonsils. When he had an issue at 8:30pm in the middle of a blizzard, she met us at her office after hours and saw us to avoid having to go to a hospital. I can't recommend her enough. Her bedside manner or personality is a bit dry, but she's the best doctor professionally. No one better...

Dr. Lyons is not only an intelligent awesome doctor she has compassion and attends to her patients in a caring attentive way. She is the kind of doctor you come to like as a friend. The best!

She is definitely a five star doctor. All the boxes were checked: professional, patient friendly, informative, and definitely one of the best medical professionals that I have encountered. Highly recommended!

First time I have ever wrote a review but it effected me enough to say my peace. It was an absolute terrible experience. Dismissive, distracted and not listening to what they patient was trying to tell her. Almost acted like she was checked out and already retired. I feel very sad for her staff, patients and herself.

I saw Dr Lyons once when my other ENT retired. I brought my records with me for the appt. When she came in the room and sat down, She looked at me and said Very rudely, “I don’t have time to look at these”. Of course I didn’t expect her to look at all the notes right then, but I would have thought she at least would have looked at some of the test results or something. After that, she got called out of the office for a call. Came back and said she had an emergency and had to leave. I was gonna reschedule so she could look at my throat, but she quickly looked and left. I did not go back. I recently tried to get my old records back, which were done by my old Dr, and finally after getting the run around, I was told that she wanted to charge me $25.00 to get them. For stuff my old Dr did. Absolutely disgusting the way she treated me. I would give a negative star if possible. Shame on you!
