Awful bedside manner, very cold. Looking for a new neurologist.
Honestly, when you see what others have said about bedside manner, you get the picture. He does not empathize. I could let that go if it felt like he actually believed me on my word. When I initially went in he had wrote everything off as caffiene addiction and tiredness because I am a mom, despite explaining the symptoms were longer lasting than just being a mom and having a family history of nuerological problems. He then mentioned bipolar disorder despite me having a psychiatrist rule it out. He begrudgingly had an EEG done and lo-and-behold they found something. Now I'm on medication but it never feels like he takes my concerns seriously and usually seems dismissive or upset that I bothered him or question him. It's interesting that my brother has had a different experience thus far but to be fair he just started seeing him. As a women I have concerns that Dr. Bockhold may be one of the doctors that doesn't take women seriously and instead dismisses their symptoms as "women being emotional".
Most thorough notes shared of any doctor I have ever seen!
Horrible bedside manner! I set up an appointment with him based on the online reviews from Edwards but I should have paid more attention to the Google reviews. I saw him one time and will not return. I needed to change my current neurologist because I moved to Naperville. I suffer from chronic migraines and when I saw Dr. Bockhold he acted as if I was bothering him. He questioned why I was even there if I’m already seeing a neurologist and acted as if I was ridiculous in asking if there was anything different he could do to help me. I honestly felt as if he was judging me and I felt as if he didn’t believe me when I described my symptoms. Doctors are supposed to want to help people and I don’t think Dr. Bockhold actually wants to do that. I would stay away and find a different neurologist.
I wouldn’t recommend him at all, very rude and does not have any respect and bedside manner for his patients.
Very thorough and takes time for explanations
Terrible bedside manner. I do NOT recommend this doctor!
I was misdiagnosed and WAY over medicated. Unless that is what you are looking for - suggest that you go elsewhere - this was the worst doctor and office experience in my life.
There are much more personable & caring physicians elsewhere. He doesn’t return messages and has little to no interpersonal skills which are extremely important for superior care. He lacks warmth, concern & communication skills. He probably would be best served in a lab doing research. I will be seeking care elsewhere.
A physician who has little to no skills in communication. Shows very little interest & virtually no eye contact. He does not return messages in a timely manner & shows little concern. He probably should be in a lab doing research & not interacting with actual people. Look elsewhere for quality care. Look at other reviews on other sites.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
