excellent
I have had several surgeries from Dr. Ross. He is a fantastic doctor. I trust everything he says or does.
We saw Dr. Ross yesterday and he spent an 1 1/2 hours with us and was referred to us by one of the best Nuerosurgeons in this area at Delnor Northwestern Hospital: Dr. John Braydon. One dr. wanted to do a co-flex procedure into my husbands spine. Dr. John Braydon knew that Dr. Ross does that procedure and wanted us to see Dr. Ross to see if my husband would be a candidate for co-flex procedure. Dr. Ross read my husband's MRI and disagreed with the first surgeon who wanted to insert co-flex into my husband's back. He spent a lot of time with us educating us about my husband's MRI. What a relief that he verified that my husband should not have the co-flex procedure. Do I dare give the name of the other dr who was so ready to put the co-flex into my husbands spine?
Dr. Ross performed surgery on my back in 2008. He is outstanding, and he changed my life. Thank you!
I was phoned late at night from someone on his surgical team asking for ME to send them the patients MRI scans. Why would I have them and not the DR!? This was DURING surgery, where the patient was anesthetized and cut open already. The patient died soon after. Dr. Ross absolutely will make himself available for a last minute surgery. If you have good insurance, he will make sure to get his hands on it.
I had a very good experience with Dr. Ross. I was referred to him by my long time primary physician to review my MRI and discuss treatment options.

I was phoned late at night by someone on his surgical team asking me to send them the patients MRI scan. This was DURING surgery where the patient was anesthetized and cut open already. Seriously?! Unprepared, careless and reckless. Patient died soon after.
Dr. Ross is an excellent, skilled surgeon. He is knowledgeable and thorough in his explanations. He relates to the patients and is a kind and compassionate individual. He treats you as though you were a member of the family. His calm, confident demeanor made a very difficult time far less frightening for me and my family.
Dr. Ross performed a coiling on my husband's brain aneurysm 11 months ago. When we thought there was not much hope for recovery, he encouraged us, spent time showing & explaining the MRIs. Even after releasing him, he would stop by to see us & encourage us. Dr. Ross is an exceptional Neurosurgeon & person.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
