I have ASD and PTSD. I needed to get cataract surgery and was extremely nervous. I explained to Dr. Sims that it is extremely hard to knock me out. She assured me that she would make the procedure as least painful as possible but I had my doubts. Even though I remained fully conscious for both eyes my pain level was a 1.5 out of 10 because Dr. Sims is that good of a surgeon and realizes every patient is different. Dr. Sims is highly compassionate and highly skilled. Between my 2 eyes being done she went on vacation but still called in to check on me. If your fear level is extremely high go to Dr. Sims. She kept me from having an autistic meltdown. My vision now is remarkable.

I have High Functioning Autism and PTSD. I have a great fear of needles. I was referred to Dr. Sims for my cataract surgery and I told Dr. Sims that I wake up during surgeries which only compounded my fear of my eyes being cut. Dr. Sims was very patient with me and never talked down to me. When my first eye was about to be done she could see I was about to have an autistic meltdown as did the anesthesiologist. ...

Dr Sims is an excellent doctor. She combines knowledge, experience, accessibility with professionalism and great people skills. She detected early stages of glaucoma before there was nerve damage. I am having mild cataracts removed, which will help with the glaucoma and tracking my golf ball. I highly recommend her!

UPDATE....Had to have cataract surgery on my right eye...and luckily Dr. Sims was still available at Wheaton Eye Clinic (my previous surgery was actually over fiveyears ago). Again, everything went perfectly thanks to Dr. Sims and her staff. This time I was in and out of the clinic in 1 1/2 hours. My vision is crystal clear again.

I needed cataract surgery on my left eye and Dr. Sims handled it perfectly from start to finish. She explained everything to me and what my options were and everything went smoothly. Operation day at the Wheaton Eye Clinic was painless and everything turned out great.

Recently had cataract surgery by Dr. Sims and after the surgery I immediately noticed that my vision was not what it should be. After several visits and not getting the problem resolved, I sought a second opinion and found out that the IOL (intraocular lens) that was inserted in my eye was the wrong power. The new surgeon I sought found completely different readings from the readings that were collected from Dr. Sim's staff at Wheaton Eye Clinic. I had to get LASIK surgery to correct the poor vision in my eye that had resulted from Dr. Sim's surgery. I am completely satisfied with the result I obtained from my new surgeon, and I would not recommend Dr. Sims or Wheaton Eye Clinic to my friends and family.
