Great place, professional atmosphere, good and friendly staff, would definitely recommend.

They do not check dental insurance. I had extremely negative experience with Dr. Stevens's because, even though I have dental insurance, they did not care to confirm the coverage. I was bullied and harrased to pay $600 cash for two cleaning sessions. I was heavily pregnant and we were living in evacuation due to Big Badin fires. This dentistry is the absolute worst place I have been to in the past 30 years of my life. I highly do not recommend them.

I went here for fillings and cleaning with Dr. Kevin ma and his assistant. He was very gentle, nice, caring, patient, and professional. Before I met Dr.Ma, I was so afraid to go see the dentist but Dr. Ma made me feel comfortable and I'm not afraid to see the dentist anymore. I would recommend He is one of the best dentists in Scott Vally.Ps. The receptionist lady was not that nice. if she was nice will make this dental office will be perfect!

Went here for re-filling of old fillings that fell out, and re-sealing of old fillings. John is heavy on the local anesthetic (which I appreciate) and also verbal about each step he is doing (in case you appreciate that, which I also do). He seems to have newer tools/techniques that don't rely on pure "gut feeling" from the dentist, allowing him to take less material out (not heavy handed on the drill). He pays attention to your well-being the whole time, and is thorough. Also has good taste in music around the office. Overall I recommend him.

The woman at the reception desk in charge of making sure dental insurance pays for the services completely messed everything up and did not care in the slightest, she just demanded post factum - "just pay us $500". So this woman, Sherry, who was supposed to check my dental insurance, etc, did not do so but surely did scheduled my cleaning appointment, and for some reason, they also scheduled a second cleaning, shortly after the first one. Never in over 30 years have I had to pay $500 for any dental cleaning while having dental insurance. The issue was that the company we work for moved to a new dental plan, and during the moving to the new plan, the old insurance decided not to honor the claim for the first cleaning. In her usual manner, Sherry didn't give a hoot to check for anything, so the second cleaning was also not covered, or partially covered, so Stevens's office happily stuck me with this bill - pay $500 out of pocket. Basically, they blatantly do not care about such issues - they assume everyone is so very wealthy here in the Scotts Valley area, so Stevens and his crew just don't give a sh..t. Also, during the first dental examination, John Stevens, the dentist, was very inappropriately gawking at the lip injections I had done in LA, - as if he never saw anything like that. The provinciality of his manner is horrible, and they all act like village idiots - it's still stone age at their office. I am now driving back to Gentle Dental office in Palo Alto, and an hour of driving is worth it, they are respectful and they work with people that are not provincial. Gentle Dental always, always checks insurance, and they don't do ugly, stupid, costly mistakes like the village idiot people here. Stay away, and I and my family will stay away from this horrible place forever. They should be out of business, they don't care at all.

I went to get a second opinion and I was treated warmly and professionally. I was given a good explanation about my options and i was educated along the way.I feel very comfortable in the treatment plan that was laid out and I am grateful they have room for me.

I've been going to this office for a number of years. The staff is very friendly and efficient. Dr. Stevens has a wonderful jovial personality that creates a great atmosphere. He takes time with his patients and is a very competent dentist. I actually have two insurance policies and they are willing to work with me on both. Dr. Ma is also very good and directed me to a specialist for a root canal. All in all, I think you would be very happy with these dentists.
