List of Barbara Buttin's Reviews
Dr Buttin was very nice the first time I met her. I had a cyst on my ovary that we were monitoring. After my 3rd appointment and my second ultrasound she decided that everything was fine. I was not fine at all. I needed a hysterectomy because of the cancer on my ovary. She never once did a pelvic exam on me. Her bedside manners were forced and overly exaggerated. Im grateful that she never did my surgery. I went with someone more experienced. I will not recommend her.
Outstanding surgeon ! Dr. Buttin calmed my fears of surgery and cancer in my first appointment by carefully listening to my concerns and addressing each and every one of them with a rational and intelligent explanation. She did not rush. She did not confuse me with doctor “speak”. She clearly empathized with my anxiety and fears. My surgery went very well. I have not had any complications and I would recommend Dr. Buttin as one of the finest surgeons in the field.
Biggest mistake of my life I feel I was not given good advice. I was told I need surgery because I had 4.5 cm Cyst on one of my ovarys which later to find out it was 2.5. When the doctor went in for the surgery the cyst had popped yet she still took my ovary. I had many complications following the surgery I ended up with a PE on my lung, the surgery put me into menapause and my stitches were opening after surgery it was a living nightmare for me my body has not been the same since. I am now on blood thinners for life. If there is one bit of advice I can give anyone out there I feel everyone before going into any surgery should get tested for factor 5 it’s a clotting disorder that is genetic. It’s a simple blood test and very important information. There should of been red flags there for the doctor to recommend this test but she never did I had three previous miscarriages which were indications I can have this disorder yet the test was never ordered nor did I even know what it was. I found this out after the surgery when I got the PE. I feel like I came out of that surgery with a different body I am still having a lot of complications I regret going into the surgery. It has caused a lot of distrust for me toward doctors because I trusted the doctors advice and I don’t feel it was the best advice for me. I have lived with great regret since my surgery 2.5 years ago. I have found it in my heart to forgive the doctor and forgive myself and just try to move forward and make the best of each day some days are easier than others.
Five years ago, I came to Dr. Buttin with endometrial cancer. She tried to calm my fears but I was a wreck. I look back at that time and wonder why I ever doubted this excellent physician. She was and continues to be THE BEST! She was patient with my terror, she spoke plainly and after my surgery, her bedside manner was calming. This is the best oncologist in DuPage/Kane counties. Trust me, you'll be happy with her.
One of the worst experiences ever very quick to want to recommend surgery when not needed. I have suffered since I have regrets
Biggest mistake of my life. I feel I was not given good advice. I was told I had 4.5 cm cyst on my ovary to find out later it was only 2.5 cm and when the doctor went in for the surgery the cyst popped yet she still took my ovary. I had many complications following the surgery. I ended up with a PE on my lung. The surgery put me into surgical menapause. I was bleeding after the surgery because my stitches were opening. The surgery was a nightmare and my body has never been the same since.
My first visit with Dr buton was great she seemed knowable and had great bed side manners she recommended I have surgery she told me the cyst on my ovary was 4.5 cm and she was not concerned for cancer However concerned it can twist and create an emergency surgery later to find out it was not 4.5 it was 2.5 . we explained I am young with osteoporosis she assured me my ovary she was leaving would kick in well I trusted her and that was the biggest mistake in my life first of all when she went in for the surgery the cyst was gone yet she still took my ovary. When I was in the hospital I ended up with a PE on my lung. I went into surgical memapause I also bleed because my stitches opened my body has Not been the same since. I don’t believe I ever needed the surgery I am on blood thinners now for the rest of my life. I recommend anyone going into surgery ask for a blood test to test for factor 5 it’s a clotting disorder that can be genetic I should of been tested for this before surgery due to a history of three past miscarriages. It’s a simple blood test I recommend anyone going into surgery request it. I had several complications after my surgery and was not able to talk to the doctor I had to deal with her assistant however before the surgery it was very different. My life has changed dramatically and I regret ever having the surgery I feel I got poor advice
Dr. Buttin was fantastic; I was scared and anxious, her professionalism, kindness and knowledge of situation was very calmingShe is who I would recommend to anyone!!!
Sadly I was in need of a qualified, well trained, extremely non discriminatory Gynaecologist who would immediately tend to any and all concerns and or issues! However, despite seeming extremely concerned about the level of PCOS and the size and amount of painful cysts that she identified through an ultrasound! Dr. B seemed to be more concerned with her accusation of essentially, insanity, despite 10 minutes prior recommending surgery relatively immediately, due to my painful condition! However due to my honesty and disclosure of suffering from the loss of my child, recent, now known incorrect diagnosis of bipolar disorder, and a few additional common issues a mother who just experienced a insurmountable loss would suffer, she sent a notified letter to my house stating that “Due to my emotional state and diagnosis of bipolar disorder, she can no longer be my gynecologist and therefore has canceled my scheduled surgery!” Now, okay so you don’t want to be my Gynaecologist, at least offer a referral, right???
I wrote a review on doctor buttin if that's what you want to call her she told my sister she had many years to live but died in a year REALLY I don't see my past review they must of took it off what a joke

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
