Although Dr. Shakir is a really competent doctor but he is not available to see you during emergencies. It's my opinion that his front office staff is the worst that you can get .

Dr. Shakir is an excellent physician. He helped us through a very difficult time and really cares about the patient. He went over the medical problems and treatment options in great detail. He explained things better than the other doctors we had seen. I recommend him highly.

Dr. Shakir has a mild temper, which I liked, however did not have the ideal bedside manner. He does did not explain different treatments and options in extensive detail, glosses over the important points and then turns to leave without asking the patient (or the family) if they have any questions. He may be a brilliant physician, but his lack of communication skills and rush to leave before you have had a chance to digest the information is just not good. Always seems in a rush to push to the next treatment or procedure without explaining what he hopes to accomplish, what are all the outcomes and what the therapy will be after treatment.
