List of Northwestern Medicine Maternal-Fetal Medicine Winfield's Reviews
My primary OB/GYN referred me to an MFM doctor for a follow up ultrasound after two unsuccessful attempts in their office of obtaining clear photos of baby’s heart. I reached out to this office by phone after running into insurance coverage issues with my office’s initial suggestion. I found the receptionist to be supportive and helpful in answering questions regarding my insurance. I was told the ultrasound would be covered, but that if a fetal echocardiogram was needed that would be an out of pocket expense (which I understood). Since this was an improvement from everything being out of network and an out of pocket expense, I asked my doctor to fax both my records and the order over to them. Came to find out the insurance and billing person called my OB/GYN’s office and asked why they sent anything over since I “wasn’t a patient of theirs.” It was decided that they wouldn’t accept me as a new patient, but this information was never relayed directly back to me. Pretty disappointed in their unwillingness to assist, despite the fact that I was willing to pay out of pocket if necessary. It has added to my stress as I still have unanswered questions regarding baby’s heart. Better hope your referring doctor has an established relationship here or it seems you’re out of luck. Heaven forbid expecting parents were to seek them out for a second opinion.
I’m not sure what the point of this office is. Everything is “Maybe/ maybe not, our machine can’t tell and we will refer you somewhere else.” They’re here to make your pregnancy stressful. Next time I’m pregnant I will do my care with some tribe in the jungle.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
