Came to the hospital for prostate reduction surgery on Tuesday morning July 15th 2023. The doctors and nurses at IU West in Avon In. are absolutely amazing people. After the surgery it was a little rough but the recovery nurses were nothing short of amazing. They certainly had their hands full for a few hours. My surgeon Dr. James Sloan and his entire support staff have done a great job throughout this entire process. This ended up being a little more extensive than expected. After being checked into my room, my care nurses are just as amazing. I am home now and on the mend God is good and knew exactly what I needed and provided the best possible people for the job.

Dr. Sloan was attentive, informative, expeditious, and very personable when dealing with my husband's issues. He even personally tracked me down within the hospital setting to update me on my husband's surgery. His staff was "AH-MAZING" and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this team of experts to anyone needing assistance in this field of health care.

Would not recommend at all....Always ... Always get a second opinion on any surgery. Do not let a dr jyst come in and do surgery when not needed. We learned this the hard way.

Dr. Sloan has improved my quality of life more then any other doctor has. If you have a stone disease this is your man. He is compassionate and understanding. Moved back to Indiana just to be back at his practice

I am a 53 year old patient of Dr. Sloan's who underwent surgery last week. From the moment I entered his office I was impressed with the whole staff. Everyone there has helped me, including the receptionist. Dr. Sloan is very nice, and has an excellent manner about him. He was quick to schedule my operation, and performed the procedure perfectly. I was called by the nursing staff to check on me the next day, and had a post-op scheduled which I attended today. I am very comforted by the fact that Dr. Sloan is my Urologist. I think anyone would be wise to appoint this team toward their medical issues, and ease their pain. Dr Sloan had treated me conservatively for two years, then recommended a minimally invasive procedure. I was thoroughly informed before deciding. I had the procedure with excellent results. I highly recommend him.

Misdiagnosed my husband 2 years ago by telling him his prostate cancer had spread to his rib and there was nothing they could do except give him Lupron. We refused the shot and got a second opinion from the Radiation Oncologist at IUH West who agreed with Dr. Sloan. We still didn't accept their diagnosis. Got a third opinion from Dr. Logie and found out the cancer had not spread. It was a rib fracture that healed. It delayed his treatment but we finally had Radiation treatments (a year after the misdiagnosis) for the prostate and thankfully he is in remission.
