My son went to the ER with issues of his TBI, she treated him as a drug seeker, and not someone with a serious issue. He was in a blackout condition do to his head injury, and I tried to call and inform her of this. She didn’t even care to listen to what I was telling her about his medical HX. Dr. Knopp would receive a zero if possible. A patient that had been diagnosed, by lumbar puncture pressure measuring in the same ER, with Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension (IICH) and active vision changes, would have been treated for a migraine with lorazepam! She didn’t bother to assess her patient for papiledema, or review her records to find the lumbar puncture measurements. IICH is not treated with lorazepam and should be treated as a true emergency, not dismissed as a migraine. Incompetence, medical negligence, malpractice, poor communication, and a lack of bedside manor, are what to expect under her care. She had total disregard for patient care and safety. She wanted her patient to “sleep it off”, even after being informed that her patient had been sleeping for almost 48 hours straight. Benzodiazepines are not the treatment of choice for IICH, and would have prevented vision loss. Corticosteroids however would have, but not her prescribes treatment.

This quack should not have a medical license. Told my father he had swelling below the waist because he was old (age 53) and there was nothing she could do for him. He had stage 4 colon cancer and didn’t know it. He died 2 weeks later.

Very disappointed and under impressed with Dr. Knopp. She concluded a diagnosis without any tests of any kind. We left frustrated and with no more information than when we arrived at the hospital.
