Wonderful!! Highly recommend!!

The first time I met Dr. Mast, my daughter just had a bicycle accident and her bone came out of her wrist. Dr. Mast was on call at IU Health Bloomington and came into the room to talk to me about surgery. He was dressed in jeans and a shirt and by no means looked like a Doctor let alone a Surgeon. I was very hesitant and even asked him if we could get a second opinion even though I knew she needed surgery. To be honest, he scared me on his appearance. I finally agreed and Dr. Mast did surgery on my daughter. Dr. Mast did a wonderful job and was very good with my daughter. I would highly suggest him and if, God forbid, I would ever need a surgeon again, it would be him.

I left Dr Mast’s office crying. I did not like him at all!! He didn’t even look at me while discussing what was wrong with my knee, he looked at my husband the entire time! He had a nonchalant attitude towards my knee pain. He was not thorough in explaining why my knee hurts at a level 9 pain. His nurse, Sydney, had a terrible disposition. The receptionist was so kind. As I was leaving his office in tears, Shauna, the receptionist had tears of empathy for me I will not go back to, Mast!! I’ll try Dr. Hood, if I have to be seen again at Bloomington IU Health. Dr Aaron Mast did my broken ankle surgery on Nov 5th 2020. January 12th 2021 I began to step out of the boot. For a “mature” in years lady this was an accomplishment to his credit. Placement of the hardware in such a small incision amazed me. You can barely see the scar. I highly recommend him at IU Ortho. Also, the staff there always friendly and supportive.

Dr Mast diagnosed my Rheumatoid arthritis, after I had seen 3 other Dr.s and 3 months of treatment till I had an appointment with him and he immediately didn't think I had carpal tunnel. He had labs drawn and sure enough it was RA and referred me to a Rheumatologist. He listens and I’m thankful as my quality of life changed for a whole lot better.

Lucky for me, Dr. Mast was on call when I shattered my wrist. He did an outstanding job repairing my double compound fracture. All follow up office visit were excellent, he and his staff took very good care of me.

Dr Mast was the surgeon on call and came to talk to me. When I first looked at him, it made me nervous. He was wearing jeans and some type of button up shirt. Dr Mast told me that she had to have surgery now because her bone had came out of her skin and then went back in. I asked him if we could get a second opinion tomorrow and he said the chances of infection was extremely high and it needed to be done ASAP. So I agreed to go ahead with the surgery. From that moment forward I had total trust in Dr Mast. The surgery went very well and she had no infection afterwards. Due to the extent of her injuries we had to see Dr Mast on numerous occasions for therapy so she could use her wrist again. Long story short, I would highly recommend Dr Mast. He is very laid back and very good at what he does. Would highly recommended him.

Office staff very helpful, knowledgable and skilled. This goes for Dr Mast and Dr Steiner as well!

Dr. Mast is so laid back and easy to talk to. So glad he was picked for the care of my broken leg. He was all about avoiding surgery and doing what was best for ME. If my family has any need for an orthopedic doctor it will always be him we turn to. Thank you for everything!

My daughter broke her arm and her bone had come out of her skin. Dr. Mast was at IU Health Bloomington Hospital and came to look at her and told me she needed surgery that night. I was very worried and wondered if I should wait and find another Dr. because I didn't know anything about Dr. Mast. The bad thing was Dr. Mast told me that it needed to be done immediately because infection could set in. He took a lot of time with me and answered all of my questions. I agreed for him to do the surgery on my daughter and I'm very glad I did. Dr. Mast I feel is a great surgeon and I would recommend him to anyone. His nurse called me the very next day and set up an appointment in his office for follow-up. She was very friendly and told me to call anytime if I had any questions. So far I'm very pleased with the Dr. Mast.
