He’s a know it all, bad tempered, poor excuse for a doctor. He told me I was fine, nothing wrong….I guess a neck broken in three places isn’t a problem….that’s ok, someone else did.

I am more than 3 years post surgery for L5 S1 fusion. Dr. Voorhies is thorough and honest about your outcome . I was prepared to at least be able to move so much better and with little to no pain after the healing process but he did tell me not to get my hopes up regarding the damaged nerve that was causing my left foot to drop/tripping because the nerve had been entrapped for too many years. I did not get full use back but I did get enough that I no longer have to use a brace. This was huge for me. No longer do I have to wake up and put on a special brace and shoes to get out of bed so that I don’t trip and get yet another tendon tear etc. He doesn’t make promises but he is incredibly skilled. If there is any possibility of improvement through fusion he is the best Dr for the job! I wish I still lived in the area so I didn’t have to travel for follow ups/revisions that might be needed but if that ever happens I will travel and see only him.

Dr. Voorhies performed a Laminectomy on my l2 to l5 to release pressure on my nerves. He and his staff did an excellent job to the point I started to regain feeling and strength in my left foot almost immediately. They did a wonderful job of informing me on the process, answering my questions, and making sure I am healing well. I would recommend this surgeon and his staff for your care. This was my first major surgery, and thanks to my surgeon and his team I am much less fearful should I need more help in the future.

Dr. Voorhies and his team did a wonderful job with my surgery. Should I need anymore help in the future I know where I am going.

Dr Voorhees is an excellent surgeon in every aspect. From his office call to his bedside manner, to the follow-up visit after surgery he is professional in every aspect. But most of all he is highly skilled. I was very hesitant about surgery and Doctor Voorhies put me at ease. He was very honest and up front with me which I appreciate. All in all if you have to have back surgeries Dr Voorhies is your best option, don't settle for second best!

I wish I could give 0 stars this man almost seems as if he isn’t w real physician. Me and my family will never do medical business with this man again. Steer clear if you don’t want to be the receiving end of malpractice.

Had fusion surgery 11/19/19 Dr Voorhies was the surgeon . Before surgery Dr Voorhies explained every thing to me. What he would do and what to expect in rehab. Everything went well. Was in surgery 5 hours in recovery 3 hours was in hospital 5 days . Had a little trouble with bowel movement but in very little pain traveled hour and half home no problem. Felling better every day. On hydrocodone #5s been 10 days and have taken total of 5 .take muscle relaxers 3 so far. Ibuprofen 200 mg 6 of those very little pain . Getting out tomorrow to walk would recommend Dr Voorhies any time. Very good surgeon with great bedside manor.

He's quiet and reserved, and a lot of people seriously misjudge him. He did my husband's gbm brain tumor 5.5 years ago. Another GBM specialist told us we had an Excellent Surgeon. I believe he was responsible for my husband's long survival. We are facing another surgery in Toledo, and are seriously considering him for 2nd opinion even though he no longer practices in our area.
