judgmental office staff who are apparently incapable of answering the phone or responding to emails. SO GLAD I switched to a provider where the office staff does their job and treats you like a human being!
Dr. Corning is really intelligent and good at what she does. She was thorough and kind at every appointment, walking me through every step of the process. Her treatment was a complete success and I couldn't be more grateful. Highly recommended.
UPDATE: The provider (NP, Tara) that I saw left the practice. I was contacted the day before my annual appointment to reschedule. The date offered to me was several months away and I explained that based on family history, I was not comfortable waiting that long. The receptionist that I spoke with (I think Nicole) was rude and unaccommodating. Since she was not helpful, I asked to be contacted by the office manager when she was available. The office manager called while I was in a meeting at work and left a rude message that just said "Nicole said I was supposed to call you so I'm doing that." I decided then that I was not going to call back but rather seek out another provider. I am having to go outside of Bloomington, but the provider came highly recommended and I know I will be treated with compassion and respect as all all patients should be. I do not recommend this practice. ***************************************************************** I walked out of this appointment feeling like this was the best experience with a physician’s office I’d ever had. It was wonderful from start to finish. The practice was recommended to me by a friend. I was able to get appointment within two weeks of when I called to schedule. The person I spoke on the phone with was very kind and helpful. Everyone I interacted with on the day of my appointment were kind and compassionate. Check in was east and I was taken to a room right away. I filled out paperwork and then a nurse/MA came in to take vitals and go over the intake forms. One thing that I especially appreciated is that they do not ask you to change into the gown until after you have met the provider. It was a much less awkward introduction when we were both fully clothed. The NP, Tara, was thorough and explained what she was going to do, why she was doing it and what it would feel like before she did it. This lessened the anxiety of being in an exceptionally vulnerable position. She also explained age appropriate screenings and the importance of them. I needed a diagnostic test for a health condition I was aware of and Tara included me in the decision making of whether to do it and where to do it. She listened to my concerns and answered all of my questions. She was patient and I did not ever feel rushed. I asked for advice on something that was out of her expertise and she offered a referral to another provider. Finally, at the end of my visit, she showed me where things were and explained what I needed to do before I left. I would highly recommend this practice if bedside manner is important to you in a provider.
I wish I could give 5 stars. Love Dr Corning but was switched from her to the new nurse practitioner without being told it was a permanent change. This is one of several communication issues. The new NP spent most of appointment sharing her own personal gyno history which is likely the reason she got my prescription incorrect.
The overall care you'll recieve is decent; Wendy and her associate are nice and knowledgeable in their work. If you can get past having a chunk of your time wasted while they and their front desk demand you respect theirs. Twice I fell asleep in the back rooms waiting upwards of forty minutes to be seen. Meanwhile traffic coming in one day made me 17 minutes late, 2 minutes past their late rule and both made me reschedule and docked me a strike on their attendance policy. Another time I was on time perfectly and called into the office, and was asked to hold. They admitted to forgetting about me in the office and I feel if I hadn't called back after 14 minutes, they would have docked me again
I’ve been a longtime patient of Dr. Corning, and she is great. But after racing across town to make my appointment on time, only to be told that it had been cancelled, without an apology, was the last straw. I was told they “left a voicemail”, which I never received. Her staff clearly doesn’t care about customer service, so I won’t be back.
STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!!! Think I am overreacting? Go ahead and spend an hour calling them and see if anyone ever picks up. Great doctor, terrible staff and businesses operations. My girlfriend went in for an appointment over a month ago. They still haven’t uploaded the bill to their online payment system, nor have they put in her new prescription.
Always a great visit. Staff very friendly. Dr Corning very knowledgeable and caring. First visit this week with NP Tara - great addition to the office. Thank you!
Big giant 0. I was 8 minutes late coming from 1 hour away very first time. They wouldn’t take me because I was 8 minutes late. Ruined my whole day and I will probably never go get my issues looked at because I’m so turned off by doctora now.
Dr. Corning is absolutely amazing. Detail oriented, compassionate, and willing to really hear the patient.
